I never said i would drop 2 lbs of fat per week, I said between 1-2.

2.) I got nothing else. A lot of people gave you some good advice above. Too bad it will be some time before you realize that.[/quote]
realize what? that my goals are different than theirs? If you look at my first post, I never asked for any advice, though I do appreciate any input and opinions. I only stated my goal and that is what I set out to do and will accomplish.

so you reccommed I add bodyfat? haha, I’ll take the health risk of being lean and muscular. I see no benefit to being 15% body fat.

I know a few guys who have 6 packs and are real defined. They’re also sickly looking, which is exactly what you’ll be if you get down that low.

I know some girls or whatever might think it’s hot and dig it, but seriously, do you want to be a string bean?

I’m 5’11’’ and have been dropping weight. I’ve lost 20lbs in about 3 months (went from 199 to 179) - I can see my top 4 abs (wow, amazing).

I’ll admit, having a 6-pack was the reason I started dropping weight, but now that i’m down to 179, I want to put on some mass. I don’t want to get huge, but i’d like to have bigger arms, lats, and a stronger core - my legs i’m pretty happy with… Except my calves, but they’re fairly easy to work, or so i’ve read.

Anyway, I looked at your diet, and i’m not expert, but here’s what I think:

Are you allergic to fruit? Then why aren’t you eating any? Blueberries are wonderful for you. Hold on, let me try and find that article… Here you go. “The Magic 13,” by TC. http://www.T-Nation.com/readTopic.do?id=867137

Read it, it’s very useful.

While i’m talking about the diet, here are some other articles I found invaluable.

yes I do eat fruit, I eat blueberries , strawberries, rasberries, pineapples, bananas, pomegranetes, oranges, apples, kiwis, watermelon, peaches, lemons and limes, grapes, nectarines, papayas, cantalope, grape fruit, honey dews, and tomatoes. I only posted 1 day from my diet.

I don’t see why people are saying i’m going to be skinny when none of you even know how much mass I have. You can’t tell by just stats because you have to take into account many more variables.

Anyways thanks everyone for your opinionns and advices. I have taken them all into account but my goals remain the same.

I would really advise against doing a dynamic effort (DE) day. Speed training is one method of training maximal strength but I think it takes a back seat to heavy lifting (ME) and hypertrophy training. It also would make his work outs too complicated; if you get hung up on the numbers and the speed chances are you’re not getting a lot done. DE days can be a good opportunity to work on form, but in reality when you’re working with 70-80% of a 1RM, especially as a beginner, good form isnt too hard to maintain.

The poster who suggested a westside style work out did make some good suggestions though: including ME workouts, and cycling which exercise receives the emphasis is a good idea.
ex.
day 1: ME legs
5x5 squat
3x8 romanian deadlift
day 2: ME upper

day 3: Reps lower
3x10 squat
3x10 goodmorning

then after a couple weeks switch to 5x5 deadlifts.

Hey, good luck to you if those weights are your goals. I hope you make it.

It’s just my opinion that at ~170lbs on a 6’1’’ frame you’re going to be skinny. I don’t care if you have a 6 pack and 28" biceps, the rest of you is going to be tiny.

I don’t care what people think, being skinny doesn’t make you “ripped” or “D”.

Let’s weigh the pros and cons here:

Girls will think he’s hot and give him wild sex, blowjobs under the boardwalk, etc.

Guys will tease him for being a string bean. Some might kick sand in his face.

Tough choice, huh? (Not.)

It takes years to build muscle. It takes weeks to lose fat. Go ahead and lean out, Mr 020606. Enjoy your summer. Then get back to your long-term mass goals in the fall.

even if I got to 6% bodyfat I would still be over 180lbs, I don’t see where 170lbs comes from?

but thank for wishing me luck on my goals.

haha, somebody who understands!!

anyways I’m going to start bulking in May and will proably remain through the rest of the year.

less than 2 months of getting to my goal is not going to effect any of my longterm goals
