Friggin’ strong squat! Looked like you had more in you. I believe you mentioned starting to squat in oly shoes. How do you like 'em? I’m thinking about picking up some adidas powerlift trainers (or something to that effect) as I feel a little more comfortable with an elevated heel. [/quote]

Love the oly shoes. I’m wearing them for everything. It’s like my feet are sunk in concrete

Squat:
135 x 5
165 x 5
205 x 5
255 x 5

Deadlift:
135 x 5
210 x 5
260 x 5
315 x 5
440 x 1

Barbell hip thrust:
135 x 5
210 x 5

Thought I’d try something different and superset hip thrust w/ deadlifts; as you can see that only lasted 2 sets. And on the 440 deadlift, my right knee made a crunchy sound on lockout. It’s never done that before, so I called it a night. I guess every session can’t be great…

A 440 DL on a bag night doesn’t suck.

Thats why I DL in sleeves. I have destroyed my knees over the years so that crunchy sound is standard issue around these parts. Sleeves seem to help though.

Squat:
135 x 5
165 x 5
205 x 5
255 x 5

Z-press:
45 x 10
70 x 5
85 x 5
105 x 5
145 x 5
155 x 3
165 x 1

Threw in some light weight rotator cuff thingys just for the heck of it. Coming up on a deload week so you may not hear much out of me unless I do something really cool or really stupid (my money’s on the stupid)

said i wouldn’t post this week unless i did something cool or stupid, fortunately (surprisingly?) it was something cool. thanks to my new lifting coach, i got to squat in a monolift for the first time:

That looks great

Cool. How much weight were you using in the monolift?

i think that video was 365. here’s a 405:

and a 455:

What did you think of the mono lift?

I find the mastadon bar distracting but I feel better anchored in a monolift.

your a big mofo…great lifting sorry Im so unsociable and do post in here more

nice squattin’

i like the monolift; it wasn’t as big of an adjustment as i had feared it would be

Deload week over, let’s lift some heavy-ass (for me anyway) weight!

Squat:
135 x 5
170 x 5
210 x 5
255 x 5

Bench:
135 x 5 x 2
155 x 5
195 x 5
235 x 5
315 x 3
330 x 3
350 x 3
365 x 1
385 x 1
405 x .5

Here’s the 385:

And this is the 405 attempt (also know as why you use safety stand when you lift alone):

Last cycle, I was dying on the 385. I wouldn’t have gotten any white lights on it, but it’s still 20lbs progress, so I’m happy with this.

Looking good

I bet by next cycle you will come along with that 405

Twenty pounds on bench is GREAT! Good going, big boy!

Outstanding progress, keep hiting it hard.

love it, crawling out under the bar! come on over and we’ll lift off to you, bet you get that weight now!

Flared just a bit early on that one, be careful with those shoulders too.

Squatted last night:

45 x 10
135 x 5
170 x 5
210 x 5
255 x 5
340 x 3
360 x 3
380 x 3
405 x 1
455 x 1

Thanks to Coach V for tweaking my squat unracking; my back doesn’t feel like it’s been hit w/ a bat this morning

Squat:
135 x 5
170 x 5
210 x 5
255 x 5

Deadlift:
135 x 5
210 x 5
265 x 5
315 x 5
420 x 3
455 x 3
475 x 2
495 x 1

475 was supposed to be 3, but i felt myself running out of gas and wanted to get a heavy (for me) single. 495 was good, and i was done

Excellent work on the 495 DL, is that a PR?

Hey, what happened to the “Race to 500 DL” thread?
