*I’m glad I was marking off my sets as I did them; I was convinced that set 4 was set 5, and had mentally shut down.
This week was disappointing, so I’m doing it again next week (weight and rep-wise), but I incorporating Wendler’s new 3-day-a-week scheme. I fear I have become a Wendler fan-boy…
Morning fasted cardio - 100 35lb Turkish getups (5 left, 5 right, rest 2 minutes, repeat)
Sorry to hear about your daughter, hope she’s OK.

Thanks for the thoughts. She’s doing o.k. but the pain meds don’t agree with her. She hates therapy, so I have to go and be her cheerleader.
In the evening (pretend Robert Plant is singing)…

This was w/ Wendler’s new template. If he ever runs for President, I’m heading up the Tennessee campaign office
Morning time, so it must be time to ‘get up’ (I tried to make a funny there…)
Kettlebell getups:
((35lb x 5)x 2) x 10)
The closer we get to sending our oldest off to college for the first time, the more tense things get around the house. Last night’s session didn’t happen, so I’m splitting it in 2: half this morning, half tonight. Here’s the first half:
Squats:
45 x 5
135 x 5
160 x 5
205 x 5
245 x 3
320 x 3
340 x 3
360 x 3
385 x 2
405 x 2
425 x 1
I’m not sure about the depth on that 425, but it felt great; this was the best squat session I’ve ever had. Either I’m supposed to squat in the morning, the washing machine leaking again pissed me off and gave me an adrenaline rush, or the fumes from the wasp spray I shot at the cricket I saw in my poorly ventilated cave hyped me up. OH press and some T-bar rows tonight.
That is some serious weight right there.
Nightcap:
Z-presses:
45 x 10
70 x 5
85 x 5
105 x 3
135 x 3
145 x 3
155 x 4
165 x 1
175 x 2
T-Bar Row:
135 x 20
180 x 20
180 x 20
180 x 20
180 x 20
Arnold Press:
45 x 10
45 x 10
45 x 10
45 x 10
45 x 10
Finally recovered from moving Diana Ross jr. into her college dorm up 3 flights of stairs; that counts for something, right?
This morning:
Turkish get-ups:
((35 x 5) x 2) x 10
Moving weekend threw me way off schedule. Can’t decide whether to just shift everything, or leave out what was supposed to happen Saturday and pick up with today’s. Eh, got all day to fret over it
Decided to go back and pick up Saturday’s workout. Heavy dealifts…@ 9:30pm…on a belly full of pasta; results were less than spectacular
5 minutes on bike
Squats:
45 x 5
135 x 5
160 x 5
205 x 5
245 x 5
Deadlifts:
135 x 5
205 x 5
255 x 5
315 x 5
405 x 1 (diva mode kicked in; didn’t like the way the bar rolled when I set it down)
435 x 5
465 x .01 (it broke the floor, but my brain hollered ‘no mas’ quicker than Duran)
GHR:
BW x 10
I’m going to bed
Nothing special tonight:
Squat:
45 lb x 5
135 lb x 5

150 lb x 5
190 lb x 5
225 lb x 5
280 lb x 5
300 lb x 5
320 lb x 6
Got in another round of TGU’s this morning; these are getting easier:
Turkish Get-ups:
((35 x 5) x 2) x 10
Catching up. Looks like you can press as much as you can squat. That always amazes me.

Don’t let it amaze you. My squat form was so horrible, I closed it for remodeling about a year ago - dropped the weight way down. I could front squat 350 from pins, but boy did I pay for it later. I’ve just recently got it back above my bench. That’s why I’ve only done push/pull in the meets I’ve entered
I’ve got to think you can pull that 465 if you can pull 435 for 5.
You going to be at World’s in Spetember?

Yup, I’ll be at the Worlds (watching, not competing). It’s just a couple of mile from my house so I’ll try and be there for most of it
Ok gotta be some intro time at Worlds then ![]()
Is your daughter going to UT?
