6 Months Out From Next PL Meet

What did you think of the wraps and the monolift?[/quote]

The knee wraps caught me off guard at first; LP really torqued them down. Once I got used to them I grew to like them. The monolift is o.k… Thanks to previous comments here I’ve got my walkout down to two steps, so I could go either way.

I found not walking it out to be a lot better but of course your milage may vary.

Alrighty, little over a week out, and all i’m really doing is trying to not hurt myself. not going heavy, warmup sets, some pushups, pullups; nothing worth posting. i’ll go weigh in the 27th and i’ll post how fat i am.

it’s about to get real up in here…

Lifting in the 275 class again. Priority #1 after this meet is conditioning.

Helped Jesse unload everything, so I’m warmed up and ready to go.

Helped one guy with his rack height. I casually asked ‘So how heavy do you think you’ll go?’; he replied ‘Oh, in the 700’s’. Punk kids; no respect for their elders.

And heard somebody - didn’t catch the name - is going to have a 1000 lb opener on the squat.

Yeah baby, it ain’t nothin’ but a peanut.

good luck tomorrow, smash fucking weight!

Give’em hell dude, you’re going to crush it.

Your meet’s tomorrow? Go for it!

This guy just doesn’t realize how freaking strong he really is!!! Meet is going well.

So, here’s how things went:

Squat : 450, 480, 510
This was after I missed a 405 during warmups; that totally messed with my head. The 510 went up so easy the head judge fussed at me for going too light.

Bench: 375, 410, miss at 440
It seemed like I waited forever for the press command on the 440, and I lost my tightness. Still a 10 pound meet pr.

Deadlift: 480, 520, 560
I could’ve hit 570; this went great.

I came in second and normally I wouldn’t care, but first place got sword trophies.

I learned metrx protein bars make me gassy.

Big thanks coach Lp for all the pointers and for wrapping my knees.

And thanks to everyone who read commented here.

good job

Looking forward to the vids! Congratulatons!

Outstanding job, a 1480 total is good work.

You going to lift at Nationals?

Thanks everybody.

@joe: right now, I’m planning on going to the nationals, but I’ve got to get to a lower weight class; I’m tired of lifting w/ the big boys. If i can get down to 242, I’ll definitely be there

Awesome lifting!!

ok videos of the meet are done: we now need to teach this guy how to put some weight on the bar!!! …oh and he’s definitely a meet lifter

Squat vids: (after the 3rd just flew up, head judge did tell him that he’d better never see him open up with less that that)

Bench vid…on the 3rd, looks like the last 1/4 just dropped to the chest and lost tightness…

Deads…nothing to say, he’s a beast!

great lifts, all very smooth. and great knee wrapping LP
