Hi diana, thank you!

Things are coming along but I was starting to burn out. lol Tested my max’s Tuesday and they all went up except my deadlift but I did the same weight with much better form. I am just done by the time I get to that lift. That’s only the second time I’ve tested all three lifts on the same day.

I did so meet Dave and he’s the coolest guy ever! He’d do anything for a Hershey bar though. lol Dave and Eric are just of the most down-to-earth, incredible and knowledgeable people you’d ever want to meet. They live and breathe for their sport and how to make it better and more accessible to everyone. It is so rare to see such dedication and passion these days and it was a good experience for me.

Your volume is going down while I’ve been told to get ready to be brutalized. lol Glad you’re settling down a bit. You must be tired now.

Honestly, for my own reasons, I’ll probably take my profile off of private and blog my entries from here on in so you can still read them, for sure. Or anyone else that wants to.

The arm is fine, yes! I had to play with how wide I was gripping the bar on my squats. Something was just being compressed the wrong way if I am too narrow. It’s still not perfect but much better! Also, my elbows are just not going to end up right under the bar. When you’re tall and long-limbed like I am, some of the typical rules are just not going to apply.

Today, I have to send my max’s to Eric and then see what I’m dealing with next week. Can’t wait. I think. lol

Deadlifts kill me too. I haven’t tested maxes in about 10 weeks, and the one lift I’m concerned about is that one.
I’m sure Eric will help you out with the arm thing on squats if your elbows stick out to much and actually hamper the lift. I went to a meet in July and it made me see that there are many different placements for the hands on the bar that are effective. Just do what works for you best.
It was suggested to me that I use a thumbless grip, and man does it work wonders in keeping the elbows in! Myself and another girl in my PL club are using that grip all the time now, she has 5 years of competition experience and is blown away by the difference that one small change can make.
I will definitely read about your increased volume adventures! I’m happy tomorrow is the last session, it was all good until just this past week, I felt pretty wiped out since Monday. Just make sure you get enough sleep (easier said then done) and eat a lot, it helps.
It’s really cool you got to meet Dave, I’ll remember the hershey bar thing!
