I looked through the book yesterday and it is pretty awesome! However, I’m having a slight problem. I’m sorry if this comes off as a dumb question, but how the hell do I decide which program to choose? There is like a million choices and due to my slight programming ADD/overthinking, I have no idea which one to choose because they all look so good. The 28 week program looks solid, but I want to make sure it is right for me. Did I miss this part in the book that explains this or is anyone else having the same problem? Lol
Write the names of each program on a card, shuffle the cards, turn over the card on top and read it.
Then stop being silly and just pick one, none of them last too long and you can switch when it is done if you don’t like it. It’s not like you are gonna lose strength by picking the wrong one.
Start with the basic 5/3/1 and get that down and then you can play with the other stuff. You need to learn your body first and then start playing with various assistance type programs. I can tell you that after I read the book, what I actually realized, and have implemented in the 8 months since it came out, is a focus on the core lifts

If you’ve never run 5/3/1 before then I would just do that basic setup from the 1st book for a few cycles. Then I would move into one of the volume based options. And then I’d progress into one of the templates where you start handling some heavier weights.
You won’t know what’s right for you until you try something out and stay with it for a while. For me the Beyond program with jokers and back-off sets works the best and is similar to how I was training before (just better of course…).
They’re all good, just need to find something that suits your needs. Since you have training ADD, you may want to pick one of templates that’s programmed out over a long period of time. The Boring But Big 5x1 variation gives you 27-weeks of training mapped out. Go in do you main 5/3/1 sets & reps, do some Joker sets, do the BBB sets, small amount of assistance and leave it at that.
