Finally hit the magic number two days ago from today . I did a triple for 455 lbs two weeks ago no belt chalk so i thouht to myself i might go for it .
warmup as follows , 225x12 , 315x5 , 1x405 then 475x1 struggled abit but it felt pretty so i went for the BIG 500 and boy did it move slowly midway but somehow i managed to stand up and lockout and i finished off by doing two sets of 405 for six reps each.
i know that this isnt much by the standards around here and i see it as a personal achievement nothing else so at 43 its not to bad or what do you think ??

Awesome deadlifting. There’s nothing like a deadlift for a feeling of strength.
I need to get back into deadlifts.
I’m surprised you had energy for 2 sets of 405 afterwards. Have you tried rest-pause for more reps with the 405, say 12+?
Did you suffer any aches and pains in the days following? Deadlifts can take it out of you!

no i havent done much rest pause and i didnt feel any aches or pains either with the deads but last week i tried to do some (real dumb !) legpresses and that one really kills your lower back so thats a nono for me. i currently working out at a ballys and i very rarely see anybody deads but alot of curls and benching what a surprise !!
many guys there seem to have bigger benches than squats and other lower body lifts and they do alot of quarter squats and two inch benching and high fiving each other afterwards.
when i got my 500 single on the deadlift no one came up and said nice lift , nothing they probably thought im crazy or something doing that kind of lifting.
sorry i went on a bit of a rant at the end here but you see some crazy stuff on these commercial gyms thats make you wonder and i just shake my head and try to focus on what im doing !
Man that is a big acheivement, for anyone. My max about 3 months ago was 515lbs. But when I finally did get over that 500lb. mark all I could see was 600lbs ahead of me. Congrats man. To the few 500lbs might be baby weight, if you weight about 320lbs, but for me at about 216lbs. it’s a good day in the gym…
Well done bro! I can officially post in this section on Saturday when I turn 35!
I think that I will post a squat video instead of my paltry dead lift. I am almost there with 600lb’s. I just seem to miss the complete depth the last two times. So, anyway you’ve inspired me with that pull, and I will chugalug on and keep at it. Again, congrats to you.
