dead stop extensions

Jason Wojo lying tricep extensions - YouTube ← with a bit more of a pause maybe… Explode up from the dead stop, retracted shoulder blades, controlled negative, can use a bit more ROM and turn it into a semi-pullover-extension.

Off the floor or bench etc, upper arms stop at an incline (makes it a lot more elbow friendly imo, though I’d still use neoprene sleeves esp. since you can get very strong on those).

Sort of a “deadlift for the triceps”…

Thanks for the responses!

CC when doing a BB row should I be brushing the bar with my thighs?

Do BB rows do the same as the Dumb Bell rows. Seems like I feel rows a lot more in my lower back than lats.

Thanks!

Don’t mean to Hijack thread either, but…

With this

Day 1: Chest
Day 2: Back
Day 3: Shoulders
Day 4: Off
Day 5: Legs
Day 6: Arms
Day 7: Off

Would it be wise to use CT’s perfect rep method with this layout. So on chest day instead of doing 3X10 flat bench i’d do 8x3 using perfect rep method.

One thing though I really don’t like training bodypart once a week. I think I benefit way more doing 2x a week… any suggestions guys?

Gee. You want to train everything twice a week? Come on, think.

2-way split over 4 days.

3-way over 6.

Simple.

Or else just focus on one or two bodyparts (do them twice) and train the rest once (if you want to change your proportions).

You can do the perfect rep thing. But the perfect rep is actually… Several ways of doing… A rep.
The thing you mean is ramping with low reps and small weight-jumps.

Seriously though, depends on grip-width, arm/torso length, elbows flared or tucked etc… It’s an aspect to actually focus on, mind you. It either happens or it doesn’t. Scapular motion is infinitely more important. [quote]

DB and BB rows… Depends on how you do them, sorry, no easy answer here.

Either bring up your low back strength or pick a different type of row. Or both…

haha I figured I had you in here I might as well ask away.

Thanks!

Something that has been working well for me recently, is hitting every muscle twice per week:

PUSH
PULL
LEGS
OFF
REPEAT

Obviously, everyones recovery capacity is different, but I found that I recover fast enough to carry this routine out and make improvements in strength. This, or at least hitting every muscle once every 5 days.
