You’re the same guy from the Strength/Hypertrophy thread? You are doing some SERIOUS overthinking. I don’t say that to be rude, and we can all be guilty of it.
You need to just get on a ready-made program and stay consistent. None of this stuff you’re looking up and things you’re learning about really matter, especially for a self-proclaimed beginner. Don’t look for optimal, don’t look for best, don’t wonder if one way is better than another. Pick a program that removes the need for questions and will show you the answers in its results. If you take half of the effort you’re putting into thinking about this stuff and move it into nailing your nutrition, sleep, and effort in the gym then you’ll be set up for success.
Bravo!
Thank you sir
And if you are a beginner as you say, you have no business going under 5 reps regardless of your goal
This should be a sticky at the top of the beginner section. Well put sir.
thats for intermediate/advanced lifters.if you are a raw beginner, build a base.your job is to build strength, not to demonstrate it with near limit lifts.the best program is the one you’ll stick to.remember, true strength building should make you stronger, not break you down–if your program leaves you injured-stop doing it.good luck
One last point to try to drive the point home. I honestly think that I’m waisting my time because you have made countless posts (with this and other aliases) asking about very advanced methods, and even tweaking these super advanced methods to make them even harder.
These advanced training strategies are designed to provide a super strong training stimulus for advanced lifters who NEED a super strong stimulus because their body is adapted to “regular training”.
Beginners who REALLY want maximum results RIGHT NOW assume that because it is a super strong stimulus, it will make them reach their goals even sooner.
THIS IS NOT THE CASE!!! If anything, a training method/strategy that is too intense for your level of development and experience might even lead to slower progress by 1) exceeding your adaptation capacities 2) leading to an injury.
The best analogy to describe what you are trying to do is a student who is in 1st grade who decides to skip high school and go straight to college to learn faster.
Let me tell you this:
THERE ARE NO SHORTCUTS TO GETTING STRONGER.
THERE ARE NO STRATEGIES THAT CAN ALLOW YOU TO BYPASS THE NORMAL STRENGTH PROGRESSION
ADVANCED METHODS OR STRATEGIES ARE FOR WHEN AN ADVANCED LIFTER HAS TROUBLE PROGRESSING FROM REGULAR TRAINING
I understand you, getting stronger is something that you really want. You want it bad and you want it right now.
It just doesn’t work that way.
