From previous post: I am a weak pussy.
Nice work, DCA. Must be something with the Earth’s gravitational pull. Everything feels heavy right now…and lots of folks (well, except Meat, who isn’t human) are saying the same thing.
As for your earlier comment, Hah! Disparage all you want. We know better.
I just came off a meet two (now three) days ago, so I’m not surprised the weights are little down. If anything I’m a little stronger than I’ve been at this weight previously, so it’s all good, really.
I’m actually a strong pussy.
i like a strong pussy…
Strong is strong… Pussy or not! great training DCA[/quote]
Thanks j_willy. This sort of training feels so much better to me than any sort of volume-based scheme. Feeling great today - my lower back is healing up and feels more solid. Was constantly hurting at a low level during the whole Hepburn program. I think conventional deadlifting will have to be an very intermittent thing for me.
Speaking of - I’m switching to sumo for the foreseeable future. Sumo DL’ing boosts my both my squat and my conventional deadlift but doesn’t wrank on my lower back. This is partly because the weights are lighter and partly because the angle of my back relative to the floor is greater, so there is less shearing force on the spine. I’ll be counting on cleans to keep the conventional DL movement pattern somewhat trained and induce some rehab. I don’t know why it is, but cleans make my low back feel better.
