I think instead of bitching about the aid to Africa you should be asking your government why they don’t have a socialized(I know evil word) healthcare system.
Um…becuase it would be worse than what we have now.
Yeah tell that to the poor people who can’t get care.
Well than tell your arguments to the cancer victims in 100 years that are not being healed because a lot of countries have socialized medicine now.
Or to all the people who could have afforded a private health insurance were it not for the socialized one and are dying now because the politicians that you want to make masters over life and death have lowered their thumb on them in order to cut back costs.
Carl Ernst and William Kenan have called him an “Islamophobe”] Ernst notes that Spencer’s articles have never been published in peer-reviewed academic journals, nor are his publications similarly reviewed or edited by a qualified scholar and published by an academic or university publishers but by conservative presses such as Regnery Publishing.
Great example you picked there.

He is far from an Islamaphobe. Have you read anything by him? He consults to almost all parts of the US gov’t when knowledge of Islamic culture is valuable. He is incredible knowledgable and much more diplomatic than others I have read. He presents facts rather than irrational theory and alarmism.

tell that too people that flock here from other countries to get the very best in health care.
this is off topic but there are far better ways to make sure everyone get the health care they want. gov’t is the problem, not the solution. Ask the Canadians.
I am Canadian we have some growing pains they will be fixed in time. Actual my ideal solution would be a mix of private and socialized care that way everyone is taken care of. Yeah the government sucks but I would rather have them in control than rich people and corporations

He consults to the US government on Islam that explains a lot.

Wow racist and wrong. The Arabs for thousands of years were an incredibly advanced culture way more advanced than the west. Now due to many factors including western interference and fanatic cults in their own culture they have fallen slightly but to call them backwards people when you live in a country where many have issues voting for a black man is pretty hypocritical.
I didn’t agree with the post you responding to but I am a bit puzzled by your response. How was Arab culture way more advanced than the west? Please don’t say Algebra.
Why not? Got something against algebra?
More importantly, what’s any of this have to do with the OP’s post?
You know what “PhD” stands for, don’t you?
Sigh unfortunately we have to end this argument as we will never agree. You will keep linking to right wing sites I will keep linking to left wing ones and we will keep going around in circles. Funny that Robert Spencer in that book talks about anti-intellectualism in Islam when it is just as prevalent in America.

I prefer to think of your sites as “Saudi-financed.”

And I prefer to think of your sites as finance by racist fucktards who are one of the reasons people on all sides keep dying.

Well there is high potential injury when you lift weights, plus in the long run you could live longer costing everyone else money. Do you ever drink alcohol or use any recreational drugs? Everyone makes decisions that can cost society money. Not to mention the fact that everyones has to accept the fact that sometime their taxes are going to be used for things they don’t agree with, either you live with that or go somewhere that matches your mindset more.
And I will cover cost for injuries that I incur because of MY OWN actions. If I ever overdose on Marijuana, I assure you I will cover the medical fees.
If I drink too many beers, then I will cover the expense.
IF however, I am injured because of circumstances outside of my control, I will gladly accept government funded healthcare.
I have no idea why you would want the government to provide you with healthcare. They mess up enough stuff up in the free market as it is. Government run healthcare would be a disaster. The greatest nation in the history of civilization has a responsibilty to stop deadly epidemics and help out those who cannot help themselves in other parts of the world. When my brother got sick he didn’t blame the government … he just bucked up and understood life isn’t fair.
Good. This doesn’t apply to you, so quit being offended like you’re the intended audience.
Sorry ignorant morons offend me. Something about stupidity just really pisses me off.
Perhaps you like to be offended.
To be honest you didn’t offend me not much does, but I like to try and educate people when they are being so blatantly stupid.
If you’re going to educate me, do so. You were saying something about the wonders of Islamic Arab civilization before. What are they?
I thought this part was especially interesting:
Later he fell into disfavor and was banished with other representatives of learning. Shortly before his death, the edict against philosophers was recalled. Many of his works in logic and metaphysics had, however, been consigned to the flames, so that he left no school, and the end of the dominion of the Moors in Spain,
One step forward, one step back! He also had some other rather unfortunate beliefs:
Averroes (Ibn Rushd) was born in Córdoba, Spain (Andalusia) in the 12th century. He held comparatively progressive views on women, was in some ways a freethinker and faced trouble for this, yet he was also a jurist in the Maliki school of sharia law and served as a qadi, Islamic judge, in Seville. He supported the traditional view, held by leading scholars even into the twenty-first century, of the death penalty for persons leaving Islam: “An apostate?is to be executed by agreement in the case of a man, because of the words of the Prophet, 'Slay those who change their din [religion]'?Asking the apostate to repent was stipulated as a condition?prior to his execution.”

I gave you the Catholic Encyclopedia entry on purpose, since most of your information tends to be of a religious bent.If you bother to take the time to research the man a bit further, you will see his influence and thinking was rather widespread. We can start you off on the rather all encompassing Wiki…

So wrong in so many ways. You should read more.
I read a lot mainly ancient history and philosophy. If you look around us today Capitalism has failed, a lot of people aren’t happy, the poor are exploited by the wealthy, the middle class is exploited just as much. The world doesn’t have the resources to handle our consumer driven lifestyle therefore the first world is forced to keep the 3rd world in abject poverty only to bitch and moan whenever they are thrown a bone.
Honestly it is you and all these other lovers of capitalism who are wrong. Oh and for a pre-emptive strike no I don’t agree with communism it has failed miserably too.

I know there must be some sane people in Canada but none of them ever post on T-Nation.
