Well there is high potential injury when you lift weights, plus in the long run you could live longer costing everyone else money. Do you ever drink alcohol or use any recreational drugs? Everyone makes decisions that can cost society money. Not to mention the fact that everyones has to accept the fact that sometime their taxes are going to be used for things they don’t agree with, either you live with that or go somewhere that matches your mindset more.
Altruism is like that — only if you have absolutely nothing to gain from an action helping someone else can your action be construed as moral. Helping your gf is not moral because helping a fellow American is obviously viscious and selfish.

Well, they had indoor plumbing, a quasi-constitution in Islam that transcended race, language and local customs, they also had several power center and their competition let great engineers, mathematicians and shipbuilders emerge.
Too bad that what constituted a kick-ass culture in 1300 is a little outdated now.

this is off topic but there are far better ways to make sure everyone get the health care they want. gov’t is the problem, not the solution. Ask the Canadians.
