44 Lbs Down and Counting

A little over 6 months ago I started on a health and fitness journey. After being a college athlete I’ve struggled with my weight for most of my adult life, but there was one catalyst that finally got me moving. Last summer, we bought season passes to Six Flags and I was excited to go with my kids. Well, after waiting in line for about 45 minutes to get on my first ride I couldn’t fit in the seat. That was enough to get my ass in gear. I decided that day that I’d had enough and that wasn’t going to happen again.

After a lot of thinking and a little bit of self-pity, I set a goal to lose 100 lbs with some interim goals along the way and got moving. I started on September 1st and 6 months and 20 days later I’ve finally hit that first goal weighing in at 248 lbs, down 44 lbs from my start weight. It was hard and it took a lot of work but it was worth it. A huge thank you to T-Nation as their articles and daily emails kept me going. I use their products every day and I believe it’s been a huge help. I’m 49 years old and still have a long way to go, but the momentum has built up and won’t be stopped now.

My hope is that this post will inspire at least one person to get going or to keep going. And apologies if I posted this in the wrong place, it’s my first post here.
