38 Male on TRT Blood Work

I just got blood work done and my PC called and said he wants to see me to discuss my blood work is off.

I couldn’t really see anything that looked concerning, I take 5000 mcg of B12 so that’s why that’s high but that really is the only thing I could think of. Anything you guys see?

The ones that jump out at me are:

  • High LDL and low HDL (in range but at the low end of the spectrum )
  • low eGFR and elevated creatinine (potential kidney issues, would get a cystatin-C test to verify)

Before this blood work approximately 3 days before it I started Anavar. Could this be the culprit and I took it before my blood work.

Plus, usually I drink a bunch of water before my blood work but I forgot this time and didn’t have any water for more than 12 hours.

Dehydration will impact eGFR, but even the number from your previous set of labs wasn’t great (in the 70s), which is why I think it warrants a closer look. It’s a good sign that you don’t have protein or blood in urine though.

Also, hematocrit spiked a little too, and some doctors can get nervous once it gets close to/into the 50s. Mine is fine with it because my blood pressure has remained steady even with the increase.
