i’m just trying to understand how numbers work?and how he can create such differential showing such display of power?
Your math is very off. The first 55m is from a dead start (0m/s) and the last 45m is from max v to the finish.

well there is something not clear to me . how can he ran a 6.5 55m with a 0.118 m/s speed and then ran a 10.8 100m where the average speed is obviosly 0.108m/s.thats 0.095 m/s speed on the remaining 45m. i have yet to see some one that can ran 100 m and acc. on the last 20 to 30 m that way when top level sprinters try to mantain speed at best. wouldnt be more exact a 11.8 s 100m time ? [/quote]
lol, i dont understand what u r saying, but i can say this i know a guy who run 6.60-6.61 55m and ran 10.8’s outdoors. maybe u should check more 55m vs 100m times its not something that is off the wall.

so how does a 6.4 55m and 10.6 100m,is that valid or am i making up stuff??
6.35sec for 55M and 10.73 for 100M was one.
Some of the younger guys dont pull as hard in the last 40M as the more experienced guys.
So occasionally you will see someone with a good 50M or 55M say 6.5 55M and 11.4 100M, it happens. Also occasionally you’ll see someone do a 6.7 55M and a 10.9 for the 100M.
6.5 and 10.8 is good.
This is a guy where a 6.3 is going to be a 10.5 or 10.4.
I still keep thinking weighted vest plyos to get that extra 5" for the vertical hops in a years time.
Hey “utfootball”.
I just found a progression chart for Bruny Surin. Its attached.
I wonder what this guy did between the ages of 21 and 22 years old, to chop .60 off the 100M!
I took times for 55M and 100M by age:
Year Age 60M 100M
1986 18/19 - 10.95
1987 19/20 - 10.62
1988 20/21 6.71 10.71
1989 21/22 6.61 10.14
1990 22/23 6.65 10.24
1991 23/24 6.66 10.07
1992 24/25 6.53 10.05
1993 25/26 6.45 10.02 ( 6.17 55m)
1994 26/27 6.50 10.08
1995 27/28 6.46 9.97
1996 28/29 6.50 10.03
1997 29/30 6.50 10.06
1998 30/31 6.56 9.89
1999 31/32 6.52 9.84 ( 6.14 55m)
2000 32/33 6.53 10.08
Guess I was kinda right, if your bro can get that to 6.2 or 6.3 for the 55M he has as much speed as he needs, but we all know the more the better!

lol i know that guy too. actually i know alot of guys that are capable of doing that.lol. i dont know you are asking me the same question i’m asking u.and lol i was waiting for same kind of answer tha did not include “i know a guy” . your lil bro according to u is capable of creating world class speed 0.095m/s and has strenght levels to match 500+ squat. but he is not capable of creating decent acceleration.what i’m saying is any more clear know?

the stats of this kid are definitly not bruny surin.5’7" 200lbs is definitly not surin 5’11" 180 lbs .also this kid dont owns surin running mecanics. sprinters ran 60 m in the winter and usually in preparation for the summer season so there not indicative . are u compering this kid to surin?
if i were you i would add in jump squats i have done them but due to a huge amount of pressure on the downward part of motion put to much strain on kneees IMO.
change one of the squat days in a dynamic squat or power squat so 40-60% of 1rpm 6x3 reps. rotatae 2 weeks off nothing/ chains/ bands would compliment the squat niceless.
after this add in the unilateral work my favourite are properly performed step ups tbh over lunges but they are all cool. so
fri:
power clean
de squats
lunges/ step up
225 rep work
is how i would be doing it

thanks great post, r u saying to also drop the snatch dl? what about any hammy gh or rdl? also remember he cant do heavy single leg stuff so how heavy are those stepups?
mon:
pc
spilt jerk
bsq
wed:
hang clean
jump squats
bp
fri:
pc
dym squat
stepups
225 work

NO hes not comparing my lil to surin he was just showing surin progession bc he thought it would intresting to read…

Seriously go learn math. You have no idea what you are talking about, besides the fact your numbers are way off. 6.5/55 and 10.8/100 are very normal numbers.

thanks davan, hes a real idiot. lol
great. calling someone idiot for espressing his opinion.really great.and how exactly my math is off ? how the differential i calculated is off?
soccerstud,
We know thats not Surin. It looks like Football is his forethought and track is there for asistantce.
The Surin came in for two reasons:
- Give correlation of 55M or 60M time to 100M’s.
- Show how someone is already fast can make large jumps from one year to a nother.
It is relative, and football can learn speed from track.
Not comparing mechanics, max potential or anything.
This is simply about the same as saying the “westside” programs work for increasing power lifting strength and can be applied to atheletes.

plz dont let that guy get thread off topic.

55m/6.5s = 8.46m/s avg
100m/10.8s = 9.259m/s avg
Now, from 0-55m you start from 0 and from 55-100m you are at a speed infinitely faster (at least 9m/s faster).
What is so complicated?
