3 Reps in 1 Attempt, What Are The Rules For This?

I like this guy. You have to be stronger to lift something three times than you do to lift it once. Very powerful.

@chris_ottawa to my knowledge because of the color card system you shouldn’t have to ask why you missed the lift, it should just be known, even though the yellow card has like 90 different reasons for being issued.

Lol, it’s stupid as hell to not tell the lifter what they did wrong.

Yea the UK AWPC affiliate. Sure its not as formal or prestigious as IPF, but from what Ive seen, read and heard from people at my gym who compete IPF, its certainly more fun.

I think the refs should have let it slide. That first rep was within the constraints of the rules. The other two were celebration.

SURE, they could have said it was unsafe for the spotters.

I joke with other refs that the USPA rulebook says ā€œNo banging your head on the bar for squat and benchā€ - but doesnt say anything about deadlift haha

Well, he was competing in the IPF. Probably just wanted to show he belonged.

That’s what the head judge told me after, he said I should study the IPF rulebook so that I know what card means what. So instead of asking what I did wrong, I would ask the judge to show what card it was that he gave me so that I could read about the possible reasons in the rulebook, if I don’t have it memorized of course.

You could say that, but Paul Anderson did the same thing. He clean and pressed well over the world record at the time (in Russia and with the previous record holder competing against him) and proceeded to press it for reps. Paul Anderson didn’t get red lights, obviously there was no rule against it then and I’m not aware of one now either. If you want to take a third attempt that you can do for reps then go ahead, but its to your own detriment.

Yellow card on squat could mean:

Who the hell can know?

Looking at that, it’s even more ridiculous that it sounded at first.
