My back wasn’t feeling right and when I went down with 240, it complained a lot.

Bailed to the bars and called it an evening.

Spent as long as I could in the jacuzzi with a jet on my low back.

Better to skip the lift than break your back. Have we got you buying marc pro yet?

I think the issue is that the current 531 template I’m using had no GM’s or other lower back exercises.

That and my body takes a while to recover from the supersetted leg days.

Currently I will have a lot of skating, between my scrimmages, league games, and refereeing.

I’m going to re-evaluate my lifting schedule.

I have three games to referee and one to play a couple of hours after that for Saturday.

I think I’ll be getting in enough cardio.

That makes sense. I play a pick up game once in a great while, and my lower back is always well worked from that little bit of a lean forward I get while skating. My neck gets sore too IF I remember to keep my head up! :wink: I can only imagine combing DL or squat day with your ice schedule. You know, Wendler does have his own forum, maybe you could get input on 531 for hockey players.

11/2/2013 - Lots of hockey

Refereed 3 youth games in a row - 3 hours

Played first league game - 1 hour

Ended in a 1-1 tie. I scored the goal for our team.

Beat the Defense on the weak side and scored on a rebound.

11/03/2013 - Hockey and 531

Refereed two more games. - 2 hours skating

Didn’t feel good the last couple of days. Felt better as the skate went on.

1 hour hockey skating lessons. Lot’s of work on edge turns.

1 hour scrimmage. Very fast, and we had only 3 on the bench. Got a goal.

League stats are finally out and of course they gave my goal to another player on my team…

So still more hockey then yes?

Called it a night.

Went home and grilled a big steak for dinner.

I always did that too when I did 531. The 5 and the 3 look a like even…

Mmmmm, steak. I haven’t had a steak in forever. My wife is allergic to beef so me normally have pork or lamb chops instead, but they aren’t the same.
