I would be curious as to how many don’t like Trump compared to what Trump has done as President.

I will admit, HRC could have cured cancer and solved world hunger, and l would still detest her. Bill absolutely set things in motion that roiled the nation, like forcing ninja loans, but l don’t feel the same about his politics as hers.

I’m not a HRC fan by any means but can you explain this? If she did things like this you wouldn’t support her?

Of course l’m speaking in hyperpole.

My point is that, today Trump has attempted to make inroads to the closed and dangerous N Korea. He also has attempted to work with China to balance trade and reduce industrial pirating. Lastly, he has called out an entire continent of military partners (EU), which has provided a cushy retirement scheme for itself as the US tax payer (you & l) and future tax payer (your children & mine) provide security using borrowed money.
So what is the non ending convo? Russian collusion. Notice l don’t say intervention, because truth. It’s what countries, even allies like the US do.

But from that unproven collusion, every ill in Pandora’s box and every sin in the Bible are ascribed to Trump. Hence, every action he takes is reprehensible to those that detest him. Hand out water after disaster - photo op. Stand against 4th trimester infanticide - misogynist, slow up illegal migration of people, drugs, and violence - racist, put oversight back into legal migration/work visa/refugee - xenophobe…

Well you get the drift. No need to bother with fixing hunger, Trump would just use it to tweet about how many more babes are wanting him to pussy grab to show gratitude.

I don’t disagree with most of your post but I don’t think the Russian thing is the root of everything. Trump’s entire political history has centered around being controversial and saying things that others wouldn’t. Other Republicans weren’t saying McCain isn’t a war hero because he got captured. Other Republicans weren’t saying we needed to ban Muslims from coming into the country. Other Republicans didn’t lie and say thousands of people in New Jersey cheered 9/11. Other Republicans didn’t mock a person with a disability. Other Republicans didn’t say a guy should have been beat up by his supporters. Other Republicans didn’t attack Carly Fiona by saying “look at that face.” Other Republicans didn’t call one of his aides a crazed crying lowlife dog. Other Republicans didn’t surround themselves with people who have committed a ton of crimes while claiming they would hire the best people.

Plenty of things to dislike from the President that have nothing to do with whether or not he colluded. Unproven or proven collusion doesn’t change the fact that we have a an awful human being in our highest office. Would ANYONE want their kid looking up to Trump?

I don’t think the way Democrats treat Trump is any different than how Republicans treated Obama. They were determined to make him a one term President, didn’t think he was born here, thought he was Muslim, thought he would take all guns, we could do a million other examples. Hell Trump himself called him the founder of ISIS. He inspired the tea party movement which galvanized Republicans to a massive midterm victory.

Horrors - I agree with you here

He has more warts than a witch playing with frogs.

Perhaps Russia is not the beginning, but it certainly has been used as the reason to call his presidency illegitimate. My belief is that some find him so objectionable as a person, no action he takes, will be credited.

Are you talking about President Obama?

Oh I definitely don’t disagree with that, but I again I don’t think this is unique at least to people who are somewhat partisan. I don’t remember Republicans giving Obama credit for anything.

But yes Trump being Trump certainly hurts positive developments in his presidency. If he acted like a “normal” Republican I think he would dominant in 2020.

I will take my blame that I feel that way against Obama.
So in a perverse way, I empathize with Trump haters.

It neither makes me nor them right.

A sad thought is that we get who we deserve as elected officials.

She was trying to get publicity for her book. And the media took the bait. I think Trump secretly loves her because at heart she’s a slimy opportunist.

In Trump’s defense, I’m not sure McCain(and most folks that are sent to wars) did anything to truly warrant being called a “hero.” Hero Definition & Meaning - Merriam-Webster
I understand that in today’s vernacular anyone who does certain jobs is called a hero.

The crux of the comments and feelings toward McCain (publicly) seemed to be that the being captured part is what invalidated an otherwise normal award of ‘war hero’ status.

He doesn’t really need defended on that comment.

I agree. Any criticism of McCain is great. No defense needed. The high point of Obama’s presidency was beating that turd.

Maybe. McCain seems to get EXTRA credit for being captured, though…which does seem strange.

“In 1969, the release of a group of POWs came with reports that, as TIME put it, “the most seriously wounded among the prisoners was Lieut. Commander John S. McCain III, son of the American commander in the Pacific.” According to one former prisoner, word was that McCain had several broken bones and had been in solitary confinement since August of 1968 — more than a year at that point.

They conceded that treatment had varied for each P.O.W., that conditions had improved remarkably by the fall of 1969, and that high-ranking officers had absorbed the worst of it,” TIME reported.

The details that comprised “the worst of it” were grisly: starvation rations, iron manacles, solitary confinement, the sick left to sit in their own filth. The end goal of such torture was often the extraction of information.

But, along with those reports came word that American prisoners had proved tough to break. Asked to list the names of the men in his squadron, McCain instead listed the offensive line of the Green Bay Packers. When his famous name afforded him a chance to jump the line to go home early, he refused; prisoners were supposed to be released in the order in which they had been taken, and he knew he wasn’t next in line. When his cellmate’s broken arm went untreated, McCain fashioned a cast out of his own bandages.

“It’s not just that he survived being hung by ropes from two broken arms and beaten senseless; it’s that when his captors learned of his famous father and offered to let him go home, he refused unless they let the rest of the prisoners go as well,” TIME noted in a 1999 cover story about his run for the Republican presidential nomination.”

I’m convinced your just trolling at this point. Trump was born with a silver spoon in his mouth and would never have served. Say what you want about McCains politics I disagreed with many of them. The idea that Trump of all people would say what he did is just icing on the cake.

But you aren’t serious. I’m often against many things we do in regards to defense spending and if certain actions are justified. But Trump’s words were ridiculous.
