Because there’s a long line of people who want to identify as French.
College isn’t just for kids. With a changing job market there are a lot of older people who should get educations. But giving them free money when they are unemployed and unemployable makes more sense.
Hell ya! Why stop there? Might as well give them a job where they can put that education to use too.
Everyone needs healthcare. Better give them that regardless of their choices too.
Everyone needs transportation, a car or free train rides for everyone!
Everyone needs clothes, free business and casual clothes for everyone!
Everyone needs food, government approved rations for everyone!
What else can we give away “free”? We’ll just tax the billionaire’s. Who cares about the math on that, though, lol.

Guess we can just continue the for profit school system and spiralling debt problem against stagnant wages.
Govt sponsored college would definitely lead to govt food rations. It sure has in Europe and all the states who have run programs of their own like this.
No kidding, I’ve known of 2 machinists that identify as German even though they have no German heritage.

There is something beyond ironic when one considers 1) Trump’s campaign rallying cry of “Drain the Swamp” and 2) the number of people around him being indicted.

Yea. Just like Omarosa had recordings of Trump using racial slurs…He can say all he wants but he has to produce EVIDENCE. I see this as a precursor for the Senate to open up another investigation into Trump and that’s all it’ll amount to … just another goose chase

From what I’ve been reading (A couple articles in the WSJ) Cohen SAYS he’s GOING TO IMPLICATE Trump. Not that he has or did - the action hasn’t happened yet. And all of this from some unnamed source. Again this is all hearsay until Cohen actual makes a testimony. And even then, if he fails to produce evidence it’s just a rumor.
I don’t think this is fake news by any means. If Cohen can produce evidence of his assertions then it’s serious. I do not think he has evidence just by the virtue of it’s been months since he’s been going through this process and he hasn’t produced shit about shit. I do think, though, this is a ploy that will give cause to open up another Senate investigation…Not fake news, but a tactic for more (probably fruitless) investigations into alleged criminal behavior…

But the sad reality is that a significant amount of the Country would still believe Trump could do no wrong …and is the target of a vast conspiracy…even if he was caught on tape trading State secrets with Putin and lapping Vodka out of Russian Hooker’s bellybuttons…

Now? Or we’ve always lived in? There have always been and will always be sycophants, “true believers”, etc … These are traits seemingly embedded in human nature that takes a lot of deliberate work to overcome. I get what you’re saying and see it all to often (thanks Zuckerberg you sunuvabitch) but I also try not to let it cloud my analysis of a situation nor get me down.
It’s one of the reasons I appreciate the vast majority of people here - mostly everyone on this particular board when it comes to politics is fairly reasonable and able to present their perspectives effectively, for the most part, and sometimes with humor.
Sorry I’m rambling now: tl;dr - don’t worry about the sycophants is what it boils down to

I can’t begin to tell you how much I appreciate many of the individuals who post here…and how much they have taught me on many topics.
I just get very frustrated sometimes; and my cynicism can sometimes bubble to the top, especially as it relates to the current Political climate we are in…
