2020 Presidential Race

I want to distance myself from your green beer drinking ways. Tired of people saying all Irish people fight and drink!

Whelp. Now we’re gonna have to fight.

Haven’t had green beer since college. Our campus always celebrated fake patty’s days since spring break was typically during the actual holiday and a lot of kids are gone.

Man, that’s downright courteous, letting him know you’re going to sucker punch him before I actually do.

It’s like the aly-oop of ass whooping!

I’m a democrat, and here’s my hope/thoughts at this early stage. Now, admittedly, I haven’t done a deep dive into most of the candidates.

Tier of “I hope they don’t get the nomination”:
-Bernie Sanders
-Joe Biden
-Elizabeth Warren.

Why? They are simply too old and their time has passed. I mean, at 80, there’s a reason most people have been retired from a demanding career for 15+ years. At 80, you are simply not as mentally sharp, as open to new ideas and ways of thinking, and as in-tune to the changing world and the new generations. Enjoy your 4 pm dinners and glass of metamucil, but not at the White House.

Tier of “haven’t made a great impression at the early stages”
-Kamala Harris
-Corey Booker

My mind could change based on how they perform and as I learn more about them, but both have rubbed me the wrong way a bit. Kamala is from Oakland, not far from me, but I don’t feel she is authentic and is saying what she thinks will resonate with the anti-Trumpers.

Tier of “I like them so far, but for different reasons”
-Amy Klobucher
-Beto O’Rourke

I think Amy K. is level-headed, well-spoken, and reasonable from what I have heard. I’m interested to learn more about her ideas and how she presents herself.

Beto might be extreme, but he seems authentic, energetic, and someone that might inspire voters. I don’t even know if he’s officially thrown his hat in the race, and maybe a few months from now I’ll dislike his idealogy.

Tier of “no opinion”
-The others.

Note: I would vote for any of them, along with any random citizen born in the US and aged 35 or greater, over Trump. But here’s to hoping that someone emerges from the Democratic field that voters can support for their own merits.

I’d run some combination of these two, if I were the Democrats(unless Michelle Obama or Oprah runs).

But what if Biden picked Beto as his running mate? Would you go for that? I would.

I’d go for any of them. I like Biden (and even Bernie), but still feel like their time has passed. Also, for the country, I think it would be best to have someone not connected with the Clintons, Obamas, and (especially, especially) the Trumps.

WHAT???

No Kushner in 2024???

What makes you say he’s extreme? I haven’t gotten that impression. Especially considering you don’t seem to consider Bernie extreme, where I think he’s too far left.

No beto is not extreme. I live in Texas and supported Beto during his senate campaign. We went to several of his campaign events and this guy went from being relatively unknown to almost besting Ted Cruz in Texas .if he runs he’s got my support . His speech about kneeling during the national anthem made me so proud to be an American and have freedom to do so. Run Beto! I got my checkbook ready again!

No, jared will be lucky if he’s not sharing a jail cell with his dad by then. Btw, he’s a little to fem for jail, imo.

I would ask my 90 plus year old grandfather for advice before I asked someone younger.

Me too.

But I wouldn’t ask your 90 year old grandfather to work a highly stressful, hugely long hours, day-in-and-day-out job for the next 8 years.

Curious about this, @magnumd

What was the essence of his message on this very divisive topic?

Maybe I am just getting old, crabby and cynical…

So far I am not excited about anyone who has declared for 2020…

I’m delighted with the crop. It’s gonna be absolutely hilarious.

Even more hilarious when Trump starts throwing Shit-Bombs at the DEMS (which has already started, by the way…)

Why would you be? Nobody has said/done anything of substance yet.

I definitely wasn’t excited about Obama 2 weeks into his announcement.

I think it’s kinda funny that of the dems that have announced they’re running, the television news is like “… And in other news, a puppy was rescued from a drain pipe…”.
