See, I wouldn’t describe his physique as having a ‘V’ taper at all–more like a ‘Y’. Phil’s side of the comparison pic is much more V-shaped.
Below is what long lat bellies, and a V taper, look like. (Note also how incredibly thick his lower lats are.) IMO, Curry’s back really suffers in comparison.
This is very true - he looks almost like a Dexter Jackson to my eye.
While this is true, I must say that Brandon’s overall silhouette still looks much better, in my own opinion. The judges may well still penalise him for that shortcoming though.
Yep agreed. Franco’s back is probably my favourite in bodybuilding actually.
The title sounds like this might provide some insight, but to be honest, just read the comments for entertainment (Kai doesn’t answer the question anyway -lol)
Damn. That looks photoshopped. Absurdly round and full. That side hamstring looks ridiculous and with what looks like a locked out knee. Curry for the repeat.
@The_Mighty_Stu Hey Stu just reaching out again. I tried filling the form out twice on your website to reach you. I’m interested in paying for your input on nutrition and advice on my current training program if you have time. Thank you sir!
Damn, with water still to drop, we definitely got a show. It is all up to Phil’s gut… Hadi made it to the US, so should be interesting to see his condition. In other news, Roelly tested positive to COVID and can’t compete.
Yeah, I’ve been on the phone with my hosting site all week, something’s apparently wrong on their end, and emails received via through my site don’t seem to be going through (I can’t even log in, after they reset everything, and I reset my password countless times over the last few days)
If you wanna find me on any social media (very easy to do so), I’ll send you all the relevant info. Thanks.
Yeah, Brandon’s looking damn good, but we all know that every bodybuilder always looks great by themselves…
Based on experience levels, and past track record, I guess the simple thinking is that even though Curry looks great and won it last year, it’s likely Phil’s to lose… (?)
I don’t know. Most of the comebacks I remember at the top level normally don’t go so well, though this is a bit different than many since it wasn’t directly due to injury. It doesn’t seem like time off is particularly good at that level. I think it’s a wild card. I won’t be surprised if he looks great and wins or if he looks like garbage and ends up like 4th or something.
I don’t see anyone touching Phil unless he comes in with a gut or less than 70%.
With the whole “size-game”, weaknesses become glaring weaknesses.
I still have high hopes for Cedric.
Big Ramy I have given up on.
And the rest just aren’t Olympia winner level. Would be cool to see Curry on Phil’s level of conditioning and fullness but I would not bet on it.
But I agree it’s more about Phil. Saw his face and it doesn’t have the same gaunt look about it so I think the conditioning might be off. Gut looks in control though - at least through clothes
The year jay came back (‘09), even covered up at the athletes meeting, you saw striations in jays neck, in his cheeks,… you just knew he did what he had to coming into tht one.
