Squats were weightless today. Planned 175x3x10, but it was effortless, so tacked on 10lbs to final set, still very easy. Been a very long week with work, very little sleep. Made up for it last few nights though. Body feels very good, despite stressors. All good stuff.

Have you squatted with the axle? Is that a bad idea?
I kind of want one for the thicker grip. They’re also cheap and the bar I have for squats tops out at 300 lbs. I fear it’s going to bend.
Diameter of the bar would increase torque on shoulder, bad idea in my opinion. Never done it though. No real advantage/purpose I can think of to do it either.

That last set of meadows rows was brutal. Took a piece of me for sure. Doesn’t look like much, but work was put in.
I’ve posted this a couple places, but
here’s a dude deadlifting 625 with the dick’s bar. It only gets a minimal bend in it after he goes over 500lbs and you can’t even see the bend in the video. I doubt it’ll bend noticeably with squats.
But yeah, I’ve been thinking about an axle too, or just using 2" pipe.
I LOVE my axle bar. Cheapie from Titan. I think I paid $25 during a sale. They’re always cheap though.
All my pressing is done with the axle with suicide grip. Butter!
Curls are better too!
I can come up with a way to fix that, haha.
I remember you sharing that when you were shopping. I can already feel my bar rolling when I do squats so I think it’s already bending. I also bent my first one and jacked up the sleeve area doing a clean pull or power clean with 275. I put more than 300 lbs worth of force on it with that movement but it’s made me not trust them.
This would be the main reason to get one. I was just curious if I could use it for squats.
If it helps, axles DO get used for squats on occasion in strongman. It’s viable, but not enjoyable.

Supposed to be paused front squats today but 4 work conference calls took away my ability to focus on anything strength related.
Got a huge sweat on with core work though, win.

Barely made it through this one, light headed, weak, no go whatsoever. Left groin very painful on squats. Never felt this before, not sure what it was. Writing this up 5 days later, all better, but had 2-3 days of pain post. Will do box squats only for awhile.

Ok, took some time off logging, but need to get back to it for accountability purposes. Life has been very hectic, all good things though. Workouts are quick and to the point, especially on week days.

Working up to a top set close to failure, then repeating that set one more time for the main lift. Then volume for 2-3 accessories.
Not squatting or deadlifting currently. Have never felt better haha. Lots of kettlebell work for lower including swings, TGU’s, lunges, RFESS, etc.
