2015 NFL Off Season

I hope this is all just smoke and nothing comes of it. Suh is obviously a dominant player, but the amount we would have to give up to get him is absurd. I would rather pursue Terrance Knighton or someone at the fraction of the cost of Suh. Ross has a habit of talking a big game and not delivering so I am not exactly holding my breath on this one.

Whoever gets Suh will overpay for him.

I think from what I heard the only teams that can afford him aren’t good teams. Is it worth it to go to a crappy team for more money?

He’s young, and will never see a contract this rich again. Get paid now, go win later.

Oh god. Not butt fumble. Anyone but butt fumble. Well… anyone but butt fumble or EJ Manuel. It’s awful reading guys on bills forum clamor for Manuel to start because “his stats aren’t that bad - better than Orton’s !”. It’s like they didn’t watch a single game. Dude is gonna put Watkins on a stretcher.

Smartest thing I read tonight: “Why didn’t we ask for Foles?”
Matt fucking Cassel and a sixth round pick for a fifth round, and seventh round pick. Fuck sakes.

Cassel can win games with a good defense and running game. He’s not a world beater but for a year while you search for your next QB you could do worse.

Multiple sources reporting Eagles will trade up to the 6th spot if Mariota is still available. It will involve multiple picks and perhaps a player or two. Not quite Ricky Williams level trade, but the Jets will come out looking good.

Could this perhaps be a repeat of the Clinton Portis and Champ Bailey trade even though Bailey and Kiko are different positions? Bailey played a lot longer than Portis and the Broncos did not miss a beat without him.
That’s a good parallel, actually.

Granted, Alonso’s track record isn’t what Champ Bailey’s was at the time of that trade but his rookie numbers aren’t the type of stats that can get fudged.

As long as Alonso’s healthy, we know he’s an impactful ILB similar to how we know Luke Kuechly is.

This definitely seems to be the theme. However, I read last night that Kelly might go as high as the #3 spot if he feels it’s necessary.

This cat really worth this? I watch zero college ball, and he didn’t look all that good in the National Championship game.

Mariotta was recruited by Kelley at Oregon then left for Philly, if I’m correct.
The Bills are a QB away from being a threat. And Matt Cassel isn’t the answer and neither is EJ Manuel.
It sure was charitable of Peyton Manning to take a $4M pay cut which he can make up if he wins the AFC Championship and the Super Bowl So, that’s a 4 M pay cut. Denver should trade him after week 17 to the Giants for his brother.
Patriots better take care of Revis because if he’s in the open market, he’s gone. I wouldn’t worry about McCourty. If he was so great, he’d be playing corner still

I guess. I just doesn’t make sense to me. It’s difficult for me to fathom the lifestyle it would take to justify demanding $18M a year. Hell even $5M a year is tough to wrap my head around.

I’d say that him being much better playing a center field role, than playing in a constant back pedal doesn’t mean he is less “great”.

He’s the first solid+, well above average Safety they’ve had since Harrison. I don’t see how moving from corner diminishes that.

Marshal to the Jets?

Wow

For just a fifth round pick. Good trade for the Jets. Bears gonna have to shed Cutler if they really wanna clean up the attitudes.

Just hope he can stay healthy, for a 5th rounder its a no brainer. See ya percy.

Ivory, Decker, Marshall and Amaro…good weapons, need another pass catching back dont want bush, still hoping for Spiller, would even take a look at Pierre Thomas for a bargain price.

Oh and still need a QB lol

I think this has been a pretty cool off-season so far, and free agency hasn’t even started.

You wouldn’t want to keep Harvin and Marshal? Or is it salary cap issues and he has to be cut?

Marshal, if healthy, is legit.

Marshall for a fifth round pic is a steal if he’s healthy. Just need someone to throw him the ball.

The amount of money the players make is pretty crazy, but I think they deserve it. Only because they are playing in the NFL, which has a revenue over 9 BILLION a year. It’s the players and coaches that make the game what it is.

I would not pay Suh that much money though. It’s only because I wouldn’t tie that much of the salary cap on a D-lineman. And, he is constantly flirting with being suspended.

I was thinking about that, and your right, if he would restructure his contract (which I doubt) he can be the third receiver plus the pass catching option out of the backfield, I think he would be able to be involved enough to keep him happy. Now to make it work financially
