2015 NFL Off Season

I hear AP will now employ people with sticks to beat his kids. I wonder where he will end up?

Not quite sure why your so upset, yes mccoy had a down year but is only 26, and Alonso is coming off a severe injury, its not like you traded alonso for Trent Richardson.
Agreed. Rex is no dummy with the defense man. Buffalo is a game manager QB away from a deep playoff run.
Hey, I said in the other thread there was 1 too many inside linebackers for the Rex defense so this isn’t a huge surprise to me, but it’s dumb none the less. Alonso is a smart, quality player who should have spent a decade plus on this team. He’s the silver lining to the EJ manuel draft - he’s what we got for trading down, and is fantastic to watch play. He’s everywhere. All the time.

Running backs are running backs. Dime a dozen in free agency, and the draft this year. They gave up a franchise linebacker good for 10 years to get a running back who’s maybe good for 4 max and isn’t that big an upgrade over spiller. Not to mention the cap dollars now tied up. Buffalo has space in 2015. In 2016 there are some big time pay days comming to the likes of Dareus, and Gilmore. Money will be tight tight tight next year. Fucking dumb.

I would think the Bills are the early winner here. The Bills defense last year was pretty damn good and this linebacker didn’t play a snap. So they didn’t lose a 2014 starter and got a youngish RB that is proven and very good on the side of the ball that the Bills need the most help with. As a Cowboys fan I am happy ole Kelly is getting pretty cocky over there in the city of brotherly love.

Come on dude , while I agree the rb position has been devalued , mccoy is not a dime a dozen back. There is no shot in hell CJ spiller can hold a candle to him . Spiller couldn’t even fend off Fred Jackson. Sammy Watkins and lesean mccoy gives you a top 5 back and possibly a top ten receiver. I’d rather have have than then Alonso and a pretty tepid offense . I’m not positive but I believe the Bills D fared pretty well without kiko last year. Your team unfortunately in my eyes became better. All you gotta do is get Mark Sanchez on your team and your good to go lol.

2013 highlights.

When Kelly puts him where he belongs, on the weak side he’s going to make you unhappy. For years to come.

Bills gain short term, while Eagles take the risk of his knee blowing out on a regular basis but will likely gain long term. The eagles can draft another running back without the bad attitude. Bills got by without alonso last year, but he’s still better than the other guys they have on the roster when healthy. I was pissed last year when they let Byrd walk, and I’m pissed this year they’re trading Alonso. I was wrong about Byrd, maybe I’ll be wrong about Alonso. But I don’t think so. McCoy will have to be absolute magic. But It’s not like McCoy is that much different than spiller (who has a carreer average of 5.0 yards per carry btw despite the retarded way Marrone used him). Time will tell. Either way fuck Doug Whaley. Now have 2 game breakers at skill positions, and still no qb to throw to watkins and a shit oline to make holes for McCoy.

Oh god. Not butt fumble. Anyone but butt fumble. Well… anyone but butt fumble or EJ Manuel. It’s awful reading guys on bills forum clamor for Manuel to start because “his stats aren’t that bad - better than Orton’s !”. It’s like they didn’t watch a single game. Dude is gonna put Watkins on a stretcher.

Smartest thing I read tonight: “Why didn’t we ask for Foles?”

5 yards per carry carreer average for spiller 4.6 for McCoy, and Lynch couldn’t fend off Fred either.

PHI wins this trade by a fairly wide margin.

They’ll pencil in Alonso for the next decade-plus and free themselves from Shady’s cap number and expectation of 20+ weekly touches. And between HC-Kelly’s tempo/scheme and that excellent O-Line, rushing offense will still be fine.

edit - looks like Broncoandy has already covered this well

Mccoy approx 1700 attempts to spillers approximately 700 attempts Oh and McCoy nearly doubles his yards per game as well

1500 attempts for shady my bad

Not Spiller’s fault they haven’t given him the ball more. I’m still not looking forward to seeing him in Green under Gaily next year, that’s for sure. From what I’ve seen though, McCoy is the same type of east / west, get in space, make them miss, catch the ball out of the backfield type of back Spiller is. Except maybe McCoy isn’t as injury prone, and doesn’t get gassed as fast. And of course Spiller couldn’t block my grandmother.

We’ll see how it goes the next few years. I just think Kiko is a high price to pay for a similar back (even if it is a bit of an upgrade) with a 5 million per year higher price tag. I would have preffered they drafted a bruiser to put the pound in ground and pound. Fancy pants backs aren’t really suitable to the type of offense they’ve been claiming they want to run.

If Kiko can come back off of this injury and perform like his rookie year, he could end up being the center piece for the Eagles defense for many years to come. On the other hand, I think McCoy will be a good addition to the Bills. He will never live up to his 2013 season again, but I think he has probably three good years left.

Could this perhaps be a repeat of the Clinton Portis and Champ Bailey trade even though Bailey and Kiko are different positions? Bailey played a lot longer than Portis and the Broncos did not miss a beat without him.

Maybe it is his fault, you cant just bypass the glaring numbers stacked in McCoys favor. Its not a bit of an upgrade its a major upgrade. Spillers best year is McCoy’s arguably worst year basically. Alonso had one great year for sure, but there is no telling how he will be coming of a year off with torn ACL, its not like he sat out the year with chapped lips.

But hey I hope your right and it works out awfully for the bills

This is about money. The cats that Kelly has cut in the last few days will open up about 50mil. McCoy was looking for a long term deal & Kelly feels any back can succeed in his O. The bigger problem is what they do at qb. Their in lies all this money saved. Watch for them to trade up to #5 w/the 'Skins, draft Mariotta & completely build around him. If that happens, it’ll be 10 Ore. players now playing for Chip again.

I think McCoy will be outstanding under Roman’s system. & w/Rex, you know it’s all about the ground & pound. Bills win this deal, hands down.

Have you read about this rumor printski? Im praying the Jets trade with the Eagles. But what your saying really makes sense…what does he have like 9 players he coached in college on his team?

As a Cowboys fan I am not sure if this is a good thing or a bad thing. With what we did last year with our running game and ball control, it is the exact opposite of Kelly’s scheme.

So which one will win in the long run?

Anytime you can get an elite offensive player out of your division/conference its a win. Alonso right now is an unknown.

I read it in a Wash Post article. The other thing the 'Skins are thinking about is throwing money at Suh. They get dominant in the middle & will have 1 1st round & 2nd picks to shore up the secondary & O line… If this is to believed.

& yeah, Matty he has 10 Ore. players now. Funny thing is I was just watching some dudes on the internet who said Philly had the best O line last yr & Buff had the worst. So maybe Chip will get the last laugh…

On a semi related note, there goes me holding onto Bryce Brown as a keeper in one of my fantasy leagues
