2015 Contest Prep/Training Log with Team Wilson Natural Bodybuilding

Yeah so something’s definitely not kosher as of late.

The other day, as I was pulling, I started feeling this pain in both my left scapula and my collar bone. It was reminiscent of the pain I felt before I injured my AC joint years ago.

So come today, I pull as normal but I do hook grip to see if it is just hand placement that makes it hurt. Nope. Any pulling puts pressure on both areas. Thing is, my shoulders are always locked in and I’m conscious of that. No posture issues either. I have no idea what’s going on, but it’s definitely going to hinder my training for the bb season and for Raw Nationals later.

Any of you feel this kind of pain? Did you just do rotator cuff work/ac joint band work?

BTW, pain is also present when pressing.

Update: 2 weeks out, hopping on the poverty train, and video to come out soon

Hey all,

Sorry for not posting as of late. No excuses; I was just being lazy. All in all, not much has changed. Lifting is going great–all but the bench press. There’s shoulder pain that persists and from all of the research I’ve done on it–it seems to be thoracic outlet syndrome.

As far as how I’m looking, well, here it is. These are pictures from a week ago and I have to say–thing’s are coming together quite well.

Current macros are at: 200P/175 C/ 52F; High day: 195P/385C/52F
Cardio: two 15 min HIIT; two 25 min MISS

Overall, I feel great. I’m really excited to step on stage soon and go head to head with one of my best friends and business partners on stage, Brandon Wadas. It’s going to be tough but the goal of it all is to come out with that Pro Card.

Oh and like I said, I’ll be posting a video soon here. I think it’ll be a very good watch for both those who aim to compete in natural bodybuilding, those competing in natural bodybuilding, and those who are heads of natural bodybuilding federations.

Peak Week!

Shit is getting REAL! Too much real tea srs.

Show is Saturday and I’m feeling great. No rapid backload but just a progressive carb load heading into the show. Pretty stoked about all of this besides the fact that it’s a four hour drive up and I may have to ride alone Gonna make eating on the way hard AF but Idk whatever. I’m just ready to dominate.

Hell yeah dude love the intensity, post photos of show for sure, kill it.

Hey guys,

just wanted to post about my first show this past Saturday and the experience overall. When people say they get addicted to stepping on stage–I understand why. The bright lights, the heat radiating from them, the feeling in front of the crowd with your hard work and sacrifice on display, the thrill of the battle, and just EVERYTHING you put into culminating into that moment under the lights is just an incomparable experience.

It was at the DFAC Michigan ROAR and I went up against one of my best friends and Co-Founder of IRON MGMT | NUTRITION SYSTEMS–Brandon Wadas. We also had one of Brandon’s clients, Jimmy, compete in it. Let me say, he’s one of the most dedicated, disciplined, and kind-hearted kids you’ll ever meet. At age 18, this kid has a limitless future with a great head on his shoulders. Anyway, I placed second but all in all–it was a great experience. Most didn’t believe that it was my first show and I wish I had footage of the morning show because apparently my posing compared to his had him upset at himself haha But I have to say that I really did try to pose my ass off in the morning show because let’s face it–that’s when the actual judging occurs.

I still have three more shows lined up:

  1. NGA Heart of America on May 2nd
  2. Nutrisport Natural Iowa on May 9th
  3. NANBF Great Lakes Supernatural May 23rd

But here are some pics from the morning show for you guys and a video from the evening for you to check out!

Idk how to format it on here srs. MODS pls help.

On to the next one. The GRIND IS ALIVE.

Saw a pic or two online, and you looked good for your first show. Were there only 2 entrants in the open men’s bodybuilding, or did it break down into divisions and I just missed something?

Nice work documenting your progress. I’ve enjoyed the thread…looking forward to more.

Thanks Stu! Means a lot coming from you! In the open, yes–unfortunately. Oddly enough, there were a million to one mens physique to bodybuilders. Times, they are a changin’.

Thank you! I’ll definitely keep everyone as updated as possible!

Alright guys, sorry for the wait but the new video with updates is going live tomorrow!

NEW VIDEO IS UP CHECK ITTTT!

Hey guys,

just checking in. Day 3 of peak week and I’m feeling pretty okay overall. I’ve been getting my workouts done early in the morning with the help of a shot of espresso. Cardio is done first with the workout done after–mostly because it’s a pump-style deplete workout without much weight. Overall, I feel fine. No complaints. I’ll keep you guys updated on how I feel tomorrow but I’m really just looking forward to this weekend! NGA Pro Card hopeful!

Also, I’m gonna be putting together a VLOG of my peak week this week so everyone can see how things have been going with footage from the show as well!

Hey all, I know many aren’t subscribed nor really even following this thread but I just wanted to announce that over the weekend, I earned my Natural Pro Card at the NGA Heart of America Natural Classic! It feels insane and surreal and I can’t get over this feeling of accomplishment.

After the show, I didn’t really binge as a lot of competitors tend to do. I had a quest bar, a two stacks of raspberry white chocolate pancakes from IHOP, coffee, some sugar free jello cups, and a glass of white wine with my girlfriend to end the night. It seems like a lot but all in all, wasn’t crazy IMO.

This week, I’ll be getting ready for another competition this week as I’m going to be competing in IOWA at the NANBF Nutri-Sport IOWA Natural Bodybuilding Championships. Time to grind!

Awesome dude! Congrats!

Ahhh, nothing beats a post contest trip to IHOP -lol.

Congrats brother. I know I already commented elsewhere, but conditioning was spot on no question.

True! haha although this second time around–it was a bit disappointing :frowning: Thanks again Stu. I just hope I can do even better this weekend in Iowa!

What up guys?

Just checkin in with some updates. And I know, that video hasn’t come out yet but I really don’t know if I should even put it out. It’s just a vlog of me talking about peak week every day and meh. Let me know what you guys think.

Anyway, I decided to go off into my offseason and focus on not only growth in bodybuilding–but preparing for USAPL Raw Nationals. Thing is, I’ve become seriously ravenous. Granted I’m still meticulous as I’ve been throughout prep with tracking food and whatnot, but even after my last weigh in with no food changing I went up a pound!

WTF M8.

Likely it was due to stress from the personal life or the fact that my fiber intake has been through the roof and yet I haven’t shat in days but who knows. I just know I need to stay under 145 and I’m golden. Thing is, like I said before, I’m fucking ravenous and every single thought keeps going back to me being hungry and wanting more and more food. Guys, this shit is no joke. I’m literally fighting myself not to go all out and binge on a ton of food for a week. Yes, I said a fucking week. Not a day–a week. Shit has been seriously fucked up and I’m even feeling depressed now. I have nothing to even be depressed about but it’s just a mindfuck.

I’ve also decided to go full time into coaching with my and my co-head Brandon’s business IRON MGMT Nutrition Systems. Honestly, it’s one of those things where I know my passion.

But like I said, all in all–I can’t complain. I’m alive, I’m doing what I’m passionate about, and I’m giving it my all every single day. It’s just some aspects that are really getting to me as of late I guess. Also, I’ve changed up my programming as well since my food has gone up. The week before this check in, I was at my normal intake pre-back to back peak weeks at:

200P/180C/52F ----> 200P/205C/52F

High days are the same at 195P/340C/52F

Training is a hybrid between PBP, high volume accessory work, and a triples overload program that I’ve ran before. Granted, I made the program and cut the sets in half to start so I can actually recover somewhat and progressively overload but so far it’s been great. Alright, check in with you guys again later on.
