every fucking year!!! he is fucked.
hey kai - have you met kevin, flex, shawn…you’re stuck my good buddy, stuck w/a capital FUCKED.
Top 6:
- Phil Heath
- Kai Greene
- Shawn Rhoden
- Dennis Wolf
- Dexter Jackson
- Branch Warren
whoever the fuck is running this broadcast is absolute shit, you have 1 fucking job. Can’t even count how many times mine froze or went to shit quality
Oh well.
I would have put Wolf ahead of Rhoden. His conditioning was superb.
And when it comes down to it, Phil is simply much more asthetically built than Kai.
Funny, when they have all the champions out, Flex Lewis looks like he can definitely hang with Phil. It will be interesting next year if Flex really does switch over to the open.
flex lewis will get dominated if he switches…
I can’t believe they placed a guy with one quad and one lat ahead of big ramy…
I think wolf won tonight but lost in the prejudging. he definitely looked better than shawn tonight.
Bonac got shafted.
Kai needs to find a better most-muscular pose… that crab pose makes him disappear.

did you not watch or something
Kai is 2nd best again and unfortunately he will always be to Phil. With how vocal he was at the press conference I expected more from Kai considering Phil wasn’t at his best this year. This is his 6th Olympia and he hasn’t brought the package good enough to clearly win the show besides from 2012. Even then that package wasn’t good enough to edge a reigning Mr Olympia.
Since Kai beat Phil in the Arnold Classic 2010, Phil has gone on to make drastic improvements in the right direction whereas Kai has added a lost of size at the expense of detail and conditioning. Phil is 4 years younger and still has room to improve whereas Kai Greene is turning 40 next year very unlikely to get any better.
If you look at past Mr Olympia winners (besides from Dexter who won when he was 38), Haney first win was at 24, Yates was 30, Ronnie was 34, Jay was 33, Phil was 31. Kai’s only hope is that a scenario similar to that which got Dexter a win in 2008 happens, and I highly doubt Phil will let that happen. Even if it does happen, I believe the likes of Wolf, Rhoden and Ramy are more likely to capitalise on any Phil Heath slip ups.
With Big Ramy not being able to make an impression this year I’ve got to say that since 2012 the Olympia hasn’t really changed much and seems a bit boring to me. Looking forward to seeing Compton, Cedric, Pakulski, Evan and Beyeke back in the line up next year.
I’m happy to see Flex win again but I’ve got to say that besides his Heath’esque delts and arms, Flex was far from being a clear winner. Eduardo IMO was a very close 2nd and although he seemed really pleased with his placing if I was him I would have felt somewhat disappointed not to win. What on earth happened to David Henry?
Extremely pleased Jeremy Buendia won as I predicted and Sadik would have been a deserved winner too. First time I’ve seen a reigning Mr Olympia drop out of the top 5 and Mark Anthony shouldn’t be disappointed because it was baffling he won it last year in the first place.
Branch Warren beating Big Ramy?
Is this real life?
Aaron finishing after Hide is a disgrace IMO. Just watching their back poses made me wonder why Hide was up there in that first comparison.

Agreed on a lot of points. I thought Wolf was a clear third, Ramy shouldnt have been outside the top 6. Im wondering if the O doesnt like him because of all the hype?
He’s the most muscular guy on stage and he has no weak areas except for calves, which really arent that weak, the rest of him is just so huge…
His conditioning leaves something to be desired, particularly lower body detail. Very little quad feathering, hamstrings lack detail from the rear…
Branch was gifted that top 6 spot. Dont think he will ever see top 6 again after this year.
Kai’s MM is awful, i thought that at the prejudging as well, its like all you see is legs and traps.
Flex is the best looking bodybuilder in the world right now IMO. that guy looks awesome. No weaknesses, great conditioning, Levrone like arms… Excited to see if he really moves to open. If he honestly believes he can stack more muscle onto that frame i want to see it.
Aaron clark was a clear 4th place, IMO. If Flex moves up next year, by that time he could, and should be, at least #2. Correa really impressed me, from what i saw he was among the top 3 guys at the entire show as far as conditioning went.
Cant say im not disappointed that Phil got the win. I think Kai is pretty much maxed out and at this rate, he’ll never secure a win unless Phil isnt competing. Putting all my eggs in the Big Ramy basket, im convinced if that guy pulls it all together he is Mr O material.

IMO no matter which way you look at it Flex is a clear-cut winner. He’s in another league. The size, the detail, symmetry and proportions…its a complete package that no on else brings.
I thought this comparison over the years was interesting. Could be the lighting, the camera, the background, but it is really clear that Phil either mistimed his peak this year or he was really trying to come in smaller and more shredded (which didn’t work).
When you look at 2011 - 2013, Phil was extremely impressive. The conditioning and fullness combined with the aesthetic flow (except for the chest area…I guess it is a bit too narrow for me) are really unbeatable unless someone else with similar conditioning, fullness, and flow comes in to challenge. If Rhoden can bring up his upper body (his back is so weak in my opinion), his arm size, and get better conditioning (hardness, Rhoden’s muscles look SO soft and filled with water) he is very close to being that bodybuilder who can really challenge.
Others who might be able to: Dexter has similar flow, but he is too small; Flex Lewis has the size and flow, and though he is cut and hard, the deep details don’t show up when he does poses where he has to “open up” from the front like a front double biceps pose; Lionel can also compete along this criteria if he can get harder; McMillan needs more mass and conditioning.

I completely agree. Wolf looked the best yesterday evening, and it was amazing to me how he lost to Rhoden. Rhoden, Phil, and Kai looked off to me; not conditioned, mistimed peak. Wolf was shredded, and filled out a bit Saturday night though apparently not enough.
Regarding Flex, I’m not sure he would be dominated by most in that lineup this year. If he adds mass, it might ruin his flow, but maybe not. I see him doing as well as perhaps a Ronny Rockel did in his Olympia competitions…i.e. making top 6 if he is on.
George Farrah on the “more aggressive” Kai this year. As predicted, it was mostly for the cameras. Not sure why people think they all need to play nice
I was talking to a friend about the latest Olympia, and we agreed that while Kai was seen as the only guy who could possibly dethrone Phil, that ship has pretty much sailed. Kai either isn’t unwilling, or is unable to bring a physique that rivals Phil in the areas that Phil is strong in. We all know Kai is larger overall, but his lack of similar crispness, and just bad posing (I don’t mean his silly routines, but how he presents his mandatories isn’t doing him any favors) have led many people to just expect the same placings each year.
As photos show, Heath hasn’t been as good each successive year in terms of his conditioning (check his quads!) If a competitor can only improve so much, then at a certain point, it’s a matter of hanging on as long as you can. This is where, in my opinion, Rhoden is going to get his chance. I maintain that in terms of size, shape and symmetry, he is the best, “complete” package up there in the top spots. If Phil has stopped improving, certainly Rhoden hasn’t, and I wouldn’t be surprised if we saw the judges start placing him above Kai in the not too distant future.

I respectfully disagree. while kai and shawn are the same age (39) I just can’t see him making the improvements necessary to challenge Kai… Kai is light years ahead IMO, especially from the back.
his sheer size advantage is staggering.
if they both some conditioned, kai wins every time
IMO Kai stopped improving years ago. Phil’s best was 2011. Rhoden is the only one I can honestly say to myself that he may still have a few notches left to tighten his belt.
Also as we all know, size alone doesn’t win, just look at Ramy. Besides, Kai’s had the size advantage compared to Phil every single year and it doesn’t seem to be helping him very much. Especially if you consider shape. Kai’s a big big dude, no doubt, but as much as I generally like his physique, it’s not a pretty one the way Phils, or even Rhoden’s is. If Rhoden has better lines, better conditioning, and comparable, if not even a little less size, I wouldn’t be surprised.

I agree that Kai may have maxed out his chances. 2012 was his best look on the O stage. This year i thought his limbs looked great, his back was very good, could be a hair sharper - feathering/details…but he missed through the chest torso area even though his waist wasn’t distended.
I thought phil looked good on the second night, but he is diminishing these last two years. Rhoden is very much, as i mentioned…in my opinion, a boring version of Flex and at best a blurry 2008 Dex. I think Rhoden is very pretty but not O worthy. Flex, Levrone, SR all would smoke a prime Rhoden…he is just missing that “wow” quality.
Stu - i respect your insight tremendously, but I don’t see Rhoden catching Kai soon or ever. I also really think Kai’s posing and transitions are top notch, he sets up shots showing off his key qualities, his SC smoked phil, and he beat phil in every rear shot, + FLS. his MM was a fucking mess though.
oh well…2015 is 12 months away…
