Come on. That was a bullshit call and everyone knows it. He made a perfectly legal hit that Welker put his head in to. There was nothing different he could have done and the officials should have recognized that.

If that was a flag, then this certainly should have been.

Edit: Look at the receiver cracking down on the safety coming in.

I don’t think this should get a flag, but the Welker hit shouldn’t have either, or the Meriweather hit. It is garbage rules and horrendous officiating. I am a huge Manning fan but the fact that they changed the rules because DT and Decker couldn’t figure out how to get physical with corners in the Superbowl is absolute crap.

Changing the subject, What do yall think about Peyton’s flag for taunting Swearinger?? While I am a huge Manning fan, and I like to see him get fired up, the double standard is pretty apparent. If a defensive player had done that to Manning they would be talking about suspending him. Plus the personal foul call on Swearinger for the hit on Welker was bullshit.

I like Manning getting the foul but I also recognize that the NFL will be terribly biased towards offensive players (see no call on Lattimer’s hit of Bethea), especially there golden boys. Its horseshit.
I love that Manning stood up for his guys, but the hit wasn’t intentional on Welker, not in a targeting sort of way. Welker ducked his head, it was an accident in my opinion, but I like what Manning did.
Getting bitch slapped by Peyton is a humbling experience.

the NFL is a business that makes money on corporate sponsors and families buying shit, something they will lose if they are seen as ‘endorsing’ weed
The court of public opinion does not care if gordon is a multiple offender, because all they know is that gordon got a year for weed, and ray rice got 2 games for knocking a women the fuck out. What exactly is the nfl endorsing? Nobody gives a shit about weed anymore except people with a political agenda, or someone with a stick so far up their ass theyre chewing on the handle.

really the nfl gives no shits about anything/anyone so long as theyre making money, and theyll continue to make money and give no fucks as long as there are degenerate gamblers and fantasy geeks keeping the monster going.
I agree. Ray Rice should have gotten a year, if not indefinitely suspended. The state does not need the woman’s testimony to prosecute, they had the video evidence. Shame on them for not pursuing criminal charges.
Violence against women is infinitely worse than smoking weed will ever be and it should be treated accordingly. Shame on the NFL.
Didn’t she spit on him or something (as in she instegated that altercation)? Didn’t really pay much attention to the Ray Rice thing. Don’t much care. From what I read, they’re still engaged. If she can forgive him, than who is anyone else to judge? The only 2 people who know what really went down are them.

As for the drugs the union needs to do a better job protecting it’s members next time they negotiate. Testing for performance enhancers is one thing. Testing for recreational stuff is another. Guys beat the shit out of each other for a living. If getting high in the off season helps than the nfl should butt out.

He knocked her out cold and then dragged her on video. I don’t care what she did, you don’t hit women. You walk away, you break up with her, you throw a rock through her windshield but you don’t hit women, period.

Anyway, the league just came down with proper domestic violence punishments today. Obviously not retroactive, but I am glad they took a stand.

I agree that the Swearinger hit was legal, or at least not intentional in terms of hurting Welker. Welker put his head down as Swearinger was coming in for the hit. But he has a history, so that makes him look bad.
And right or wrong, the QB standing up for his guys is a good thing, even if the injury was an accident. Swearinger had been apparently taunting all week. Manning stood up for his guys and I like to see that.

Oh, I agree, I liked to see the fire coming out of Peyton there. However, if someone like Cushing had sacked Peyton on the next drive and head-butted him the same way “defending” his CB, would the league have looked at that as an $8000 fine offense?

I think i would have started laughing at Peyton if he was cussing me out. I wouldnt mean for it to be disrespectful, but the dude just cracks me up.

His response “Money well spent” gets a thumbs up from me.

I was listening on ESPN radio today as to whether the punishment fit the crime so to speak. The idea of it being the letter of the law and agreed upon by the players during the last collective bargaining agreement is true. HOWEVER, stupid rules should, could and have been changed as should this one. If Im not mistaken Gordon has passed plent of tests before, then on the other hand from what I have read you have to be incredibly stupid to fail as you know when they are coming.
Tyrann Mathieu got himself straight so Gordon has no excuse. He knew the rules and the consequences so he deserves whatever he gets.
The Cardinals protected themselves by having Mathieu take regular drug tests and sign a contract that had no guaranteed money if he EVER fails one. Before Gordon comes back have him sign the same type of contract or cut his ass loose.

Anybody watching ‘Hard Knocks’?
Of course I am, it’s my team. Just curious if anybody else is watching.

Definitely the least interesting season I have watched. Not even certain why. Just hasn’t grabbed me the way previous seasons did. Still enjoying it though.

I haven’t watched it. I’d like to so I’ll see if I can find it online later on.

Peter King has predicted Green Bay and Indy in the SB with a GB win.

Not sure about this

Has Peter King ever been right??

I think we’re gonna see a repeat to be honest. At least on the NFC side. Sorry DB!

Doubt it, but for some reason people give him money and they let him decide who is going to be in the HOF.

I dont know the odds are in that favor, but there are just no more repeats.

Some dark horse will come out. Could be GB if they fix the defensive issues.

Ya I know the odds aren’t there, but they didn’t get worse after the SB like a lot of teams. At least from what I’ve heard I’m not a Seattle fan.
