So it’s only cheating when you get caught huh?
Interesting.
No, but we can’t exactly penalize people for something they didn’t get caught doing either.
I mean, what are we, the MLB Hall of Fame voters?
Seriously though, do you want everyone else to just say ‘oh golly gee I guess it’s ok that the Pats broke the rules again, because we’re pretty sure other people do it too.’
No but: “Hey look, they bent the rules/cheated, what fuckers. It isn’t like this type of shit isn’t rampant in professional sports, so tag em a fine and crack jokes” is reasonable. I’ve read people talking about how it is representative of our shit culture, they should be stripped from the Superbowl, Bill fired, etc.
You call me arrogant, yet ignore how fucking over the top some people are being about this.
The fact you said possibly and not just “yes” is my point.
People are ONLY on it because it’s the pats. Until people talk about the Hawks love of getting popped for PEDs, Rodger’s cheating, etc with the same vigor and fervor, I have a point.
One man’s arrogance is another man’s avoidance of work today…
See you’re still doing it.
People absolutely get at the Hawks for their PED pops, along with all of the other individual players on other teams that it happens to. And you know what, those players also get suspended for their cheating.
Rodgers does not cheat. He overinflates the balls to his preference, hands them to the ref to do his job(deflate them). It probably increases his chance that the ball still ends up at the top end of the allowed spectrum, or maybe even above it, but he followed the rules. The Pats handed balls to the refs, who inspected them, and then somehow at halftime when they were re-inspected 11 of the 12 were ~2 PSI under the limit, while all 12 Colts balls which were also inspected were fine.
Everyone else is the bad guy, maybe, kind of, please don’t hate my Pats!
