Hey, I thought they could win, and were up by 2 score two different times.
Heartbreaking loss for you man…
What a game though…I can’t remember a Pats game that was such an emotional roller coaster.
One of the better games I’ve watched in a while…IMO this was better then the '11 AFC Championship game.

Ya, heck of a game. Pats will win the AFC Championship is my prediction. I think they’re the only team left that’s can beat the Hawks. GB has a shot, but I don’t think they’ll do it.

My wife went out, and it was just me, my daughter and father in law. It was hard, very hard, not to yell at the TV lol.
I was exhausted after the game. I turned everything off and trimmed a couple hundred pieces of brass to just zone out and stop thinking about the game.
My heart is sore lol. It was a great game. Not much defense to speak of, but a good damn game man. I was nervous all the way through.
Side note: My daughter says to me last night: “Daddy, I think the team in orange is the winners.”
“Really baby girl? Why is that.”
“Because they are the girls out there”
I lol’ed “Well I don’t know if they will win, but you have the girls part right.”

This sums up me this whole year as a Cowboys fan. I got a mini stress test every Sunday.
Wilson to me is Tom Brady with the early 00’s Pats. As currently constituted, I think he’s not some top flight QB, and is doing exactly what his team asks of him to win the games they need him to. That said, he is gaining immense confidence both for himself and from his teammates and coaches, and said coaches seem to be top of the line.
I expect him to continue growing until he actually is the QB people as kind of crediting him as being right now(if that makes sense); a sort of self fulfilling prophecy if you will. He and others have genuine belief(and reason to think) he’s that good, so even though IMO he isn’t YET, he will be, and time will forget that he really wasn’t.

This is only his third year, and he is still learning. So he still has an upside. He just has so many good things going for him its crazy.

With almost all of the premier QBs in the game right now reaching their twilight, I put Wilson extremely high on that hypothetical ‘if you were drafting for a franchise, with high regard for long term future, who do you pick?’ draft board. Rodgers is pretty much the only undisputed elite QB that has enough career left to contend in that competition with the likes of Luck and Wilson.

I think this is a very reasonable way of looking at it. Brady was very much a “system guy” and “game manager” that grew into a stud that could carry a sub par team on his back. Wilson has physical tools Brady never had too, which could propel him further.

You mean if they pay him, or what happens to the team because of the cap?
Local reports are saying they are going to pay him.
Ya, I full expect him to get paid by the Hawks especially if he wins another Super Bowl. Wilson is too high a caliber qb to let go because of the money. I’m curious how that affects the salary cap and ultimately the team structure. You can only keep so many super stars.

This is a concern of mine. But Seattle has very good management and arguably they have had a windfall with Wilson so far. They have locked up most of their defense for the next few years and are reportedly working on the rest of the key players. Seattle also after paying Wilson–reportedly–will still have a free-agency war chest available for next year. I don’t think in the short run–the next few years–paying him dearly with be a huge problem for them all things considered.

That’s good for them then. I wasn’t sure what kind of cap situation they are in. The Raven’s are pretty good about this too. It’s nice when your front office doesn’t shoot themselves in the foot over cap issues.
Deffinatly agree Wilson is going to move up the ranks as the super elite retire, and he improves. Him and Luck could very well become the Brady / Manning of this generation. Gotta admit I was impressed with his play vs the Panthers. The benefits of not having to carry your team for a young guy like that can not be over stated. He’s not developing the bad habbits that are so hard to break, and it’s easier to see the value reads when your not in all or nothing mode all game long. He’s gonna get paid, and the team WILL be worse off in the long run than they currently are as a result, but a franchise quarterback is hard to find, and that makes him worth every penny of the 20+ million a year they pay him. They’d be retards not to pay him.

I wrote a post on another forum discussing the aspect of Wilson/Luck with regards to ‘the elite’ aging as well. Rodgers is the only undisputed elite QB that isn’t into his twilight. Ages vary, but the triumvirate of Brady, Brees, and Manning are certainly not long before retirement, and guys just behind them like Rivers, Big Ben, Romo, etc. aren’t far behind either. The NFL is about to be 100% turned over to the hands of Luck, Wilson, Ryan, Stafford, Eli, etc. Wilson is very high on that list if you ask me who I want on my team.
Also, since it’s nearing that time of year. I absolutely think Winston will be on that list soon. His off the field shit is the kind that doesn’t bother me(ok well the rape allegation was worrisome, but Ben made it through the same thing just fine), and his skillset is amazing.
