2014 NFL Thread II

Dallas win was impressive.

Buffalo beats Packers last week, looses to Raiders this week. That sounds about right. Time to get the paper bag back out.

You know what might be a possible first round playoff game, the Cardinals vs. the Falcons. Talk about a crappy game.

Playing alongside that BAL DEF, I could see Romo, Rivers, and Ryan also winning a ring.

No question Flacco was lights-out during their title run (11 TDs, 0 INTs, iirc) but that stretch continues to look like an outlier versus the rest of his body of work.

Relatedly, if Russ Wilson’s success is diminished by that great SEA defense, then you have to also discount Flacco’s success as well, and for even longer.

ARI CB-Peterson will be hearing it all week.

I thought Wilson played surprisingly well for a pretty good mid-tier QB.

The clip in that link just brings a smile to my face.

That was definitely beautiful. I like the hesitation and then the decision to jsut go for it where he turns on the boost.

I would say the RG3 “non-TD” from last week was pretty similar including the stiff arm but unfortunately someone made additional contact before he got in.

Jimmy Clausen actually played OK.

Anyways, I really don’t know what the Bears are going to do. Emery should be staying, but Trestman, Kromer, and Tucker are definitely gone. Cutler is supposed to be getting interest from the Titans… they need a QB, he went to Vanderbilt, apparently has a house/family there. Now I’m not exactly a Cutler fan but I don’t know how he comes back to this organization and want to play for them considering what happened in the past couple weeks.

I would love Mike Shanahan or Harbaugh for a coach. Anyone with some semblance of leadership skills.

So is any team in the NFC going to take down Seattle in the playoffs?

Dallas could end up the # seed in the NFC if they win, but I still don’t see them stopping Seattle.

Seattle is going to be tough if they beat the Rams and get a first seed and a bye. They are getting healthier and stronger. They will likely get Unger and OKung back for the first game with the bye week.

Wilson is just so damn good…you think he’s sacked and then he runs for 50 yards.

Dallas is looking scary. I like Seattle’s chances against the Packers and Lions better. Although I think a Dallas-Seattle game is going to look a little different this time around than the game looked during the regular season.

Dallas is playing as well as any team, but there’s still that Romo factor and I think they’re just waiting for that right moment. I’m a huge PATS fan so I’m hoping Seattle gets knocked off

Absolutely. Flacco can’t carry a team for a full season. He needs a run game and solid tight end play.

The Raven’s defense hasn’t been in the discussion for best in the league for a while though. Top 5 maybe. The Ravens have had secondary issues for a several years now.

I thought Clausen played well also; better than I expected. Alshon killed him - absolutely killed - him with those dropped balls.

I was unsure who was going to stay and who was going to get canned, but with Clausen out next week and Cutler in it’s apparent Cutler is staying. Trestman and his staff will be gone, not sure about Emory but if I had to guess I’d think he was gone too.

Different year, Romo has never had this kind of OL or running game.

Yea- quite honestly I could see Dallas making a real run this time around. I’d almost be ok with it b/c they finally did things right in regards to draft and play calling IMHO. I think seeing SEA-DAL matchup at some point would be good although I could just as easily see it going the way of the last SuperBowl.

I still think we are a year away from being a serious SB contender, how we run in this playoff will show. We are missing key personnel on the DL, and we need Lee back.

But stranger things have happened in the playoffs. Will be fun to watch.

I think you are better off finding someone to replace Lee. Dude cannot stay on the field.
