Harry, I think I’ve finally managed to convey how much I enjoy your stories, and the style with which you tell them -you are a goshdarned Norman Rockwell with a keyboard!
Can’t wait to see how this turns out!
Throw hard at the Games. Turn that stick over for me.
Good luck Harry.

What Carl said!
may your heavy shit go far and straight, except for your pole, may it turn completely.

What where you wearing under the Kilt…Never mind I dont need the mental image.
Sounds like fun to me…
It was great fun.
Very well run meet/festival. The games were the first held by the new organization and they did an outstanding job. Huge turn out of spectators and competitors alike. Weather was mid 80’s and not a cloud in the sky. Anyway, Master’s divison, first. Got a nice dagger but as I was slighly inebriated when arriving home it still in my rides car somewhere. Wife and I are both off for the next several days so plan on hitting the gym hard. Probably last HG of the year is Oct 2 and I really want to hit some PRs for it. Got some good feedback at these games and want to work on some things.
Open stone throw

I had to ride in the car with these 2. I think one of them may have ate my dagger.
That looks like a nice place to spend a day throwing. Congrats on another first. How many daggers do you have now? Any remarkable performances?
Wow. Great job. Never thought I’d say a man looks sexy in a skirt. But that first pic of you!
We have some highland games in our area. I’ll have to go watch sometime. Do they do “wench tosses?”
Great job Harry! Thanks for the pics.
What was your competition in the Masters division.
Thank you, Kpsnap. I do believe I’m blushing. No wench tossing. We would never throw a perfectly good wench away.
George, only had one class in the master’s, 40 and over. 14 of us total. Youngest was 40, oldest was yours truly.
Carl, the break down:
the good,
42# wob = 15’
Heavy wfd = 33’4.5"
light wfd = 48’3"
light hammer = 79’11"
the bad
Braemar stone = 27’4.5"
open stone = 35’11"
the ugly
sheaf = 16’
caber = 2 out of 3 turned, 2 oclock
8 events, 4860, we elected not to throw the heavy hammer because of the number of competitors.
Several pr’s but still disappointed. Didn’t foul on the distance throws so made some real improvements there and in the hammer. Sheaf was sheaf. If I make the opener I’m happy. Just couldn’t get the stones comfortable and get a good put on them. I like to use a South African type spin in the open but just couldn’t keep the stone against my face so went with the scoot.
You would have beat me across the board. Except maybe Braemer. We threw a 24.7 lb stone. I got 25’5 something. How big was the caber? Still not spinning on WOB? How much do you think your spin could add? World record still stands at 18’6".
Harry,thanks for the pictures and letting us enjoy your experience.You’ve got me wanting tp throw rocks.Maybe tomorrow.
