Got to get the workouts in when I can Joe. Sides, swimmings more mental for me than working out.
PG, I think it makes a point to them to learn how to throw right. All I keep hearing is “I wish I had someone to teach me how to throw it like that.” Best comment of the day, “You’re like what, over 40?”

Couple questions fer ya
what’s up with the single hand db press? just wonderin
Also, on the cg snatch from hang; are you dipping deep, or power snatching it?
thanks
Also, the guy that has been the President of the Sons of Scotland Throwing and Lifting club is retiring. He has put on 212 highland games. 213 is his last, on the 21st. Last time we’ll get to throw in his huge back yard, that we call the Field of Dreams. One of the other guys will probably host the club after, but it won’t be the same. I wasn’t planning on throwing until summertime, but I’m gonna throw on the 21st. End of an Era. At least he’ll still be throwing, he just wants to spend more time with his grandkids instead of putting on games. I’ll have to PM Carl and let him know - he threw in the Field of Dreams a couple halloweens ago.
Sngl hand db press = seeing if I get more pop in the shot put. Just an experiment. Thinking maybe I should drop the poundage and increase the speed, though,
Very little dip in the snatches. Power snatch pretty much.
Several good friends put on annual meets and it’s a lot of work. Having put on 200+ meets suggestions a real love for the sport and the patience of Job.

Good Work as always Harry, Any Comps coming up?
21 April, Colin. Tennessee Senior Olys district comp, Track and Field. Doing the swimming comp the next week. Alabama Senior Olys are 6 May, just doing the T&F cause they’re holding the swimming on the same day in a different city. From May on I get real busy.
Nice! I have a Push Pull in May but not really expecting a whole lot out of it. Trying to see where I am at with the new body weight and get a gauge on where I need to focus my training.
Training looks grea Harry. Is it rough having those two comps so close together?
Were you a competitive swimmer back in the day?
Just checked your last posted WO. Very impressive, you are moving some very nice weight and with speed yet.
Good luck. Colin. Interesting to see how much it’ll affect your strength.
Shouldn’t be much of a problem, Joe. Comps are pretty easy compared to practiced. It’s the traveling to and from. Just signed up for the Smoky Mountain Highland Games. That’ll be an over nighter but I’ll have to drive back on a Sunday night after competing and go to work Monday. All in the name of fun!
No Steve. My dad was big on swimming and exercising so we swam alot, in pools and out, and once I made PJ in the military I swam constantly. My 1st competitive swim meet was last year.
(See if this picture of papa from my pix comes out).

Thanks for stopping by thebruce. Biggest lose that comes with age is the explosivness needed to throw far. Trying to get some back.
Got tied up helping the college throwers last night so did a little throwing but mainly coaching.
Your dad was quite the specimen. Now we know where you got the good looks.
Aw shucks, you made me blush, Steve.
Long day at work yesterday, got to the river real late.
2000m, started slow, loosened up around 300m and set a good pace after that. Rest off swimming before comp will be at the pool so I can work on turns.
