After the dumbell press, the whites of his both eyes were completely dark red.
I was standing with, who I think, was his father.

Yeah he was really strong especially in the overhead but is quite a bit shorter and lighter than the rest of the competition.
It also sucked to see Romanchuk (I think that’s who it was) tear his bicep on the stones. The whole crowd went silent.
great pics

I wish I could have gone. I live in Atlanta and its only about a 3 hour drive. didn’t know about it until last weekend. Forever be a regret!
Sounds like Z did well in the Deadlift and crushed the log press putting Shaw and Z tied going into the final event, atlas stones.
Just heard Shaw won. That’s my neighbor!
Shout-outs to T-Nation’s own Mike Jenkins!! Get well soon! Hope it’s nothing serious.
It must suck to go in this strong, just to completely fall out of the competition later… IMO he’s the best all-rounder in the sport and a definite shoe-in for the title, breathing down big baby Shaw’s neck.
God damn, with dudes like Shaw and Thor is seems Poundstone, and may of the other strongamn just doesn’t have to genetics to be WSM, and Poundstone if a genetic freak.
Final results!
- Brian Shaw
- Zydrunas Savickas
- Terry Hollands
- Laurence Shahlaei
- Derek Poundstone
- Thor Bjornsson
- Vytautas Lalas
- Mike Jenkins
- Stefan Solvi-Petursson
- Ervin Katona
Shaw and Big Z were both on 40 points coming into the Atlas stones, which Shaw won to take the contest.
So shaw did win the stones?
If one of the other guys had beat him, he’d have won worlds strongest man without an event win…
Big congrats to MJENKS. Finals your first time at WSM, won the first two events, sick! Hope you heal fast and strong dude!
I’m a little late due to having to spend the night in the Atlanta airport but here are the results for the final three events.

These are all unofficial values of course. They announced that Bjornsson and Lalas tied for 6th but otherwise it is correct. I was just hand timing with my phone and had no way of measuring the truck pull distances but I hope this helps.
