2011 SPF Worlds Training Log

Little late but great job on the squat PR. Squat seems to be going up fast now.

Kimba: I think it could cause professional issues if I went around taking pictures of the students, just say’in. while I appreciate the thought I suffer from the dread affliction Noassatall. I am looking forward to Worlds though.

Cav: After World’s I’ll have around a five month break from meets to really try and push my numbers. I’m shooting for a +55 to my total though +30 might be more realistic.

LP: I’ll be lifting on Sat. I don’t think I’ll make early weigh in of Friday which is a shame as I’ll be coming in close to 198.

james: Outstanding, glad to know its getting some use.

DD: I find that I have to really push my squat to get it to move, even if that mean the first couple of times I try a weight I don’t quiet get it down to competition depth. My gym depth is much more of a struggle than meet depth anyway so it doesn’t bother me much.

Aim high, Joe. you are a helluva lot stronger than you give yoruself credit for…+55!!!

Right now the +55 would require a 330 squat, a 415 DL and a 255 bench. Those are possible but everything would have to go just right.

Bench

5x135
5x185
5x200
3x230
1x255
1x255
3x230

5x10x160

Face Pulls

12x80
12x87.5
6x95* calf cramp, really?

HS Iso Lat Rows

14x 1pps
14x 2pps
14x 3pps
11x 4pps

DB Rows

10x75
10x85
6x95

Gassed at teh end for some reason. If I had a spotter I would have gotten two reps on the money set for sure.

I would be gassed too- nice presing.

and a bbb set no wonder you are gased.

congrats on that squat PR- Nice Work!!

If I did 78 reps of bench work, I would have to ice my shoulders for a month…nice work Joe!

Thanks, so far I haven’t had any shoulder issues so far with widening my grip.

I think you will get those easy. I seem to remember you ‘under selling’ yourself before your last meet too and you exceeded your expectations.

I think you’re a big game player.

As I’ve said before…sandbagger. Joe is sneaky strong.

I hope you guys are right but I’m not so sure of it right now.

Squats

5x135
5x185
5x225
3x255
2x285
1x315
.5x335
3x255
5x225
14x150

370 walk out 35 seconds

405 walk outs 30 seconds

Pretty tired. Felt strong but just didn’t get down on the 335. Vexing but I guess it comes with the territory.

Joe are you on the Sheiko? how’s it treating you?

I have not yet begun to Sheiko. Most likely I will do a cycle after national though I have to admit the lack of heavy singles worries me.

What’s ya up to Joe? get any results from the biopsy?

Oh yeah, I’m fine.

Just a scare.

Great to here it Joe.

Great news on the biopsy. I hope your wife is doing better with everything.

I tried widening my bench grip a little (pinkies on rings) and it went horribly. I have pretty narrow shoulders and a narrow grip just feels better.

That’s great news Joe!

That’s great news on the biopsy. You must be very relieved.

That’s a lot of benching the other day. Do you really think you should be throwing face palms in at the end?
