miss and dumped

I was getting frustrated with depth and screwed around with my foot placement on the 300. Got all out of whack and had to dump the weight. Now I have no freaking idea where to set my attempts.

I had thought about 245/275/300 but that seems stupid now.

I thought that 300 attempt was great. My amateur opinion -that’s exactly how you need to train your max attempts. Having to dump just means you’re actually pushing your limits.

Just have fun at the meet Joe. As long as you surpass your previous total, you’ve made progress.

Joe - I actually think your 245-275-300 attempts would be good. At the meet, use how the 275 feels to bump or lower your final attempt.

I agree! Looks like you dipped pretty low on the 300. Good luck to you!

You got it man, don’t talk yourself out of the lift before the meet even begins. Go in knowing you’re going to smash 300 and then do it.

Thaks everybody, I’m done lifting and now its time to relax and cause trouble in all of your logs for a day or two.

I’m leaving for Gatlinburg Friday morning and should get there mid-afternoon. Going to walk around and chill out for a bit when I get there and then try and get a good nights sleep. With luck I’ll lift in the 198 class instead of the 220 class.

My wife and Ronda are going so there should be some entertaining commentary.

Right now I’m just taking it as a learning experience since its my second meet.

Joe, you’re gonna do great. Forget the workouts and just pull the trigger.
Your planned squat numbers look good. Might as well make the 3rd a lofty, though very much attainable, goal.

Looking good in here! This meet will be entertaining for all of us.

You probably already know this, but just take it easy and let your body recuperate.

I think the best part is when they get your weight at the weigh in, then tell you “Go eat!”
