That is exactly what playoff hockey should look like, great game. Now the pressure is on the Flyers, let’s see how they do.
x2

and x2 on Niemi. Conventional wisdom is that the Flyers would capitalize on Niemi’s rebounds and relatively week high save numbers. He seems to have tightened up all around.

If he stays hot, thats obviously good for CHI, but if not, they could be in trouble. Leighton did much better last night.
Yes, Leighton was much better, it actually made me nervous. Good call on them for using him instead of Boucher. Anyways, that game, I would say the Flyers played better than us, hands down. IMO we played sloppy, shitty turnovers and just terrible passes, and missing the puck with the stick way too easily. I don’t know if it was the ice or nut since it was muggy in Chicago, but still. Plus, the Flyers just dominated that last 5 minutes and we couldn’t stop them (besides Niemi).

Obviously I still say Chicago will win the series, but it is clear every game is going to be by the fucking teeth.

I liked how I type “nut” instead of “what”.

This is how hockey games should be-- Especially, S/C Finals.

So, we need to let Philly win one in Philly so we can go back to Chicago and win at home.

Okay, Game 3 started out like Game 2…and now it’s a replay of Game 1.

Awesome game tonight. OT in the Cup? Can’t ask for more than that.

I just hope Philly can take the next one, because I want as much Stanley Cup hockey as possible.

Haha, I love hockey man but a tied series would just make me die of angst. Really good game tonight, I kind of expected the Hawks to lose, just a feeling throughout the game…

I think they’ll take game 4 in philly. I was in the city tonight for the game and everyone was going nuts! A lot of the blackhawks goals are coming from stupid turnovers, so if they stop giving the puck away (coburn’s turnover game 1 was a joke) they have a legit chance.

Great, fast paced game.

I would like to know why Pronger doesn’t get penalty’s though. I mean he cross checked Byfuglin three times before byfuglin got the slashing penalty. I know it is usually retaliation that gets the penalty, but come on. Tripping, boarding and being a general POS and no calls.

And though I am kind of rooting for the Hawks, it should be clear that as a Wings fan the Hawks are not one of my favorites, so don’t call bias.

Because he is a very smart veteran and has been playing this game for a very long time. Rough play in front of the cage is a given, and the refs are rarely going to call anything there, especially in the playoffs or on a player of his caliber.

Byfuglin got dinged because he broke the stick, which is blatant, and will always get called. Pronger is smart with his punches and cross checks, and that’s what makes him one of the most annoying/best defense men in the game.

Yep, you know your hockey WC. Pronger seems to know how far to push the Ref’s when he’s chirping at them and not make them look like they are favouring Philly. You can hear Pronger saying “hey, hey” when Byfuglien chopped his stick in half. He’s is getting away with alot though, no doubht about that.

What a game for Hartnell, that pass he made while falling to the ice to Briere reminded me of Esposito to Henderson lol.

Can’t wait for the next game, Go Philly!

I’ll give you that he’s smart, and they will always catch slashing the stick but some of his shit is just blatant. As far as crosschecking in front of the net, that is the MAIN place they call it. He’s known around the league as a dirty player, but somehow doesn’t get called for it. When you snapped a players head back with a crosscheck to the back, that’s not cagey, much more sly and effective across the upper arm.

As far as being a player of his caliber, that usually works against you. Holmstom has to be increasingly more careful of the crease because of his rep. Of course I would almost certainly feel differently if Pronger was a wing.

Yeah, but 2 of the goals last night for the Flyers were power play goals. We had the same penalty problem last game too.

It’s not called because they’re BOTH big boys. Even O’brien was getting away with the first 2 or 3 cross checks on Buffy in the second round, it was gratuitous hits 4 through 8 that usually got called. If Pronger was doing the same to Kane or Toews in front of the net, it would get called a lot quicker.
All that being said, I’m still waiting on Pronger popping Buff’s head clean OFF tonight.

Pronger is so good at playing dirty, he can get away with anything. Although I don’t know if I really like his style, he gets the job done, and would be a nightmare to play against.

Flyers look great so far, some very pretty goals.

I swear Don Cherry has gotten hit in the head with one too many frozen pucks.

Ville Leino has been on fire these whole playoffs.

2-2 bitches

DEATH BY ANGST?

Officially angst-ed. Flyers are just playing more determined than us, bottom line.
