What a great game. Artest usin that big body to push J Rich off the spot for the miss, clutch shot. Crazy how missed shots work out like that sometimes, if that ball draws rim we’re probably watching OT because of how long a putback would take, but thems the breaks you gotta get that board.

At least I gotta watch a great 4th quarter. Man, I just want Nash and Hill to at least go to a finals.
No doubt about this one. This tandem definitely deserves it.
Wow, great 4q! Great action, back and forth pace, nailbiter of a game. This game (especially the fourth quarter) is what makes basketball great.
Artest with total redemption on the putback from those two missed threes, especially the wide open shot with 22s left on shot clock.
J-Rich celebrated a little too early when he hit his shot. At least he made it.
Hope this series goes seven games, great finish to a great game.

Helluva good game.
Looked like kobeys legs were jelly in the second half
Yea I noticed that. If the lakers don’t close out the suns in game 6, they will have to play game7 in monday and assuming they win it, they will open up the finals on thur with only to days rest. If the the celtics can close out the magic tomorrow, they will have 5 days of rest before the finals. Just throwing it out there.
WOW! WOW! WOW!
Man hats off to the suns, I do feel bad for them, fighting the way they did, hitting that 3 by Richardson only to lose it in the end.
I’m really glad Artest made the winning shot, he’s really struggled at times and I’m glad he got his moment of glory. He looked like a little kid jumping up and down hugging Kobe. I was however really pissed when he threw up that shot with over 20 secs on the shot clock and 50 secs left in the game. I REALLY hope this game winning shot doesn’t go too much to Artest’s head though and he starts making stupid decisions thinking he can be the next Derek Fisher (back up game winning shot taker). Cuz he definitely is not there yet and needs to play smarter basketball. Kobe, Derek, Gasol, and Odom all have a great basketball IQ, I hope they teach him what he needs to know to be a real contributor.
tmoney change that OKC avatar. Thunder are gone this season buddy.
Join my Beat LA bandwagon (we got plenty of room) and together we gonna run this thread straight up

“This can’t be life”.
That was a great save by Artest, but he still drives me nuts. He doesn’t understand how to play winning basketball, and that may be the Lakers eventual downfall. I said as soon as he was signed that they downgraded from Ariza. Also, the amount of calls that go the Suns way is ridiculous.
In Phoenix it’s to be expected, but in LA? Kobe Bryant is quietly having one of the best series in recent memory. The guy’s so good, and we’re so used to his statistical outbursts that it’s basically going unnoticed. The Lakers need to stop dicking around or they’ll lose this series. They get a good lead going and then they abandon what’s been working? They’re obviously not getting any love from the refs so they need to jump on the Suns and step on their throats so they can’t fight their way back in with help from the officials.

Normally when I post during a series ala Thunder Lakers where I root for the lakers’ opponent the series doesnt usually end up to well for me. However believing in a curse when I post in this thread, lol im not going there.
I still think the Suns can pull off this series. Like I said many times before since the start of this thread, LA Lakers are not going to win the championship. Alvin Gentry is my third favorite coach after Greg Popovich and Phil now. He’s not going to let Game 6 go haywire for the Suns, they will win.
Best thing about LA is the fake tits not the Lakers! C’mon people…
You will eat your words. You’re anti-Laker rhetoric is starting to rise. That means they’re getting closer…ever so closer…
I have to echo the spectacular play of Kobe Bryant in these playoffs. To me, this is his best, most efficient playoff performance of his career. He’s quietly throwing up 30 plus points and nearing triple doubles on a nightly basis.
I heard some analysts on talk radio parroting the same thing and making fun of Charles Barkley for saying Kobe was washed up a few weeks back and now he’s having the best playoff run of his career.
Some heady praise from the Suns that should stir up the hornets nest here (he he he):

"Kobe is the best player in the NBA,‘’ Stoudemire said. "I’m pretty sure he practices all the time to figure out what he can to do improve himself and his teammates.‘’
So, Bryant is better than LeBron James?
"Oh, yeah,‘’ Stoudemire said. "LeBron’s a great player. But I think just from a skill standpoint, footwork, attitude of the game, I think Kobe is the best player in the league.‘’
Stoudemire would get less of an argument now that James, despite being handed the past two MVP trophies, has seen his Cavaliers flame out in consecutive postseasons. But Gentry takes it a step further.
Gentry calls Bryant the best player ever. And don’t think Gentry has forgotten about a fellow North Carolina native by the name of Michael Jordan.
"I still think he’s the best player that ever played the game. I really do,‘’ Gentry said. "He’s playing great in this playoff series. He’s shot the ball unbelievably well in this playoff series (52.3 percent). He hasn’t had a whole lot of open shots. The night he got 40, I thought Grant [Hill] did a good job on him.‘’

So how often do you and Kobe hook up in Denver, Colorado?
Umm…okay. I think he’s a great player and fun to watch and I read a lot of sports articles. Nice try at your witty one-liner. A little peeved that others should say such blasphemous things? ![]()

I’m kidding, I just wanted to make a joke.
Kobe is quite good.
I couldn’t resist posting this stuff because it’s just too much fun to see the non-Kobe fans go into a tizzy when anyone dares mention him as one of the all-time greats. Everyone is so quick to write off the old and jump on the bandwagon of the new.
Did anyone here Joe Johnson, D wade and Lebron are meeting to discuss this offseason. I expect this offseason to be very big. I havn’t been this excited for an offseason in a while.
I agree with what Randman and Flash said. Kobe is having a MONSTER series and no one is talking about it. Three straight 30+ point games where he was either 1 rebound or assist away from a triple double? That is so nuts but no ones talking about it cause you just expect it.
I think when you’re basically expected to get 30 points and damn near a triple double every night of a playoff series you’re going to go down as one of the greatest players of all time.
No one will ever take over Jordans GOAT status but Kobe is up there and as a long time Laker fan I would have to say kobe is playing his best basketball right about now. I think the supporting cast he has is letting him play a much more well rounded game (hence the near triple doubles every night) and not forcing him to hoist up so many contested shots.
.greg.
these conference finals have been so good (especially if the Magic can find a way to win tonight) that I feel like theres a good chance that the Finals might be a let down…

If Kobe wins at least 3 titles without Shaq [and he’s already got one and may get another this year] I won’t hesitate to say he’s as good as or better than Jordan on the court. There are certain things off the court that would probably give MJ the edge, but on the court you’d have to give it to Kobe.
