2010 NBA Playoffs

Also, where the hell is T? Don’t think I’ve seen him the last few pages.

Drew, you gotta remember the Lakers were up really big one game and had a giant meltdown letting the C’s come back and take it. I don’t remember off the top of my head but I think that game would’ve tied the series for the Lakers, and with a dominant victory like that the momentum shifts in that teams favor. On the flip side if you lose a lead like that and are down big in the series your momentum has basically come to a screaching halt. I think if they meet again Bryant takes it personally and has a monster series and the Lakers dominate them, taking it in 5.
There is absolutely no way the series ends in 5. come on man, It was the nba finals, He was playing as hard as he could. He was also not as banged up as he is right now so he's gonna have to have his teamates show up this time.

also yes, it was game 4 and the series would have been tied.

Yeah, I agree. I think the Lakers would take the Celtics in the finals (if the Celtics get past the Magic) but I don’t think it’d be 5 games. 6 games? Sure.

Interesting “Where’s Lebron Going Article?”

"The big issue is whether LeBron is going to make a basketball decision or one geared toward marketing, exposure and his personal life. After talking to several veteran NBA players and several club executives over the past 48 hours, it was somewhat surprising to hear that few people believe LeBron will make primarily a basketball decision. Nobody I talked to believes LeBron was humiliated by the loss to Boston. None of the players I talked to believes LeBron is motivated by winning in the same obsessive way Magic, Bird and Jordan were, or Kobe is. They believe that LeBron thinks he has years to win, and isn’t particularly pressed at the moment to do so.

A former league executive, a former coach and a current general manager all told me LeBron is one of the most spoiled and coddled players of this generation and as a result isn’t particularly accountable, as evidenced by his refusal to shake hands with the Orlando players after they whipped him in last year’s Eastern Conference finals. It’s a particularly disappointing thing to hear repeatedly because, if true, it suggests LeBron has this AAU mentality that values individual accomplishment over winning. I could live with hearing this about, say, O.J. Mayo, but LeBron James?"

Man, if only Delonte West hadn’t fucked LeBron’s mom maybe LeBron would have got his ring this year…
Would you please fucking drop that?
So I take it no one buys into this rumor? It’s an interesting theory, but I have yet to see anyone in the big media report it.

I think this is the more interesting part. It confirms what a lot of us are criticizing him for on his thread. With this attitude and approach he will never reach the upper echelon of the best players of all time unless he has a serious attitude adjustment sometime mid career.

That’s kind of my point man. His teammates are playing much better this time around so the Celts can’t focus on Bryant alone. If it goes there I’m saying right now Bryant will take it personally, have a MONSTER series and the Lakers dominate it, taking it in 5.

Right as I wrote that last response I read that the LA times is reporting Bryant had a “significant” amount of fluid drained from his right knee.

yeah the Lake Show is pretty beat up right now. Hopefully this week off will help but I hope they make this series short and the East series goes a grueling 7 so the Lakers can rest up for the finals. That would be my scenario in a perfect world

.greg.

The east looks like it will definitely be a grueling series, so the Lakers just gotta worry about shutting them down, whichever team comes out of the east will probably be coming out of a real battle.

There’s always two ways to look at the scenario and I flip flop between the two depending on the specific situation. One way to look at it is to say “great, the other team just came out of a grueling series and we’re rested so our team has the advantage” and in some cases this is true. The other way to look at it is "the other team just WON a grueling series and they’re battletested and carrying momentum, attitude and focus into this series and they’re going to kick our rested team’s butts and sometimes this is also true.

Regardless, I think for the Lakers it’s important to win this Sun’s series as quickly as possible and rest even more. I don’t know how much of an “additional” advantage we would have over Boston if they won a grueling series over if they finished Orlando quickly. I know they’re an older team but they seem like they’re firing on all cylinders now and are relatively healthy.

^^ Agreed. I just think kobe and bynum need as much rest as possible… the whole getting out of a rhythm thing is always a concern but I think they need rest, especially Kobe.

The good thing about Bryant is he can always shoot himself back into a rhythm, haha.

The good thing about Bryant is even when he’s not shooting he’s still demanding respect for his defense and team leading ability. He can have an off game and still lead his game to victory.

Why does the West Coast even try? Put Lakers in the East Coast and we could just get rid of the west coast as a whole.

^Wow. Have you watched the NBA over the last decade??? It’s only in the last couple of years where the East Coast teams have two or three top teams in the top five and never mind if you look at 1 through 8.

It was only two or three years ago where everyone was bemoaning the fact that lower seeded east coast teams were getting into the playoff with losing records while one year recently every team 1 through 8 on the west coast had 50 plus wins.

That’s why it was such a huge upset when the Pistons beat the Lakers in the 2004 championship when the
Lakers just finished a three peat 2 years ago and San Antonio won it the next year.

If you haven’t noticed, it was the Lakers and the Spurs (west coast teams) that have dominated winning championships over the last dozen years with the Pistons in 2004, Miami in 2005 (should have went to the Mavs in that controversial series also a west coast team) and the Celts in 2008 breaking through with one a piece.

Up until recently, the quality of the west coast teams dominated east coast teams and the win loss record of west versus east in the last dozen years backs up that claim; up until a couple of years ago.

End of first quarter, up by 9 and Kobe looks like he’s having one of those games. Artest and Odom are looking confident, things are looking good so far.

Does anyone else think Vujacic should be permanently planted on the bench? He is IMO one of the worse players on the bench. I’d prefer them play Mabenga, he brings intensity and puts up the effort to block EVERY shot that goes up, but he does foul and make poor decisions. Vujacic on the other hand doesn’t do shit for them and seems to mess up some of the basic shit.

Why no, no I haven’t. I stopped watching that shit when the strike happened so many years ago. True story. But I still give all my love to East Coast - because I can.

And thats why nobody likes you and we all think you’re stupid and smell bad! lol

Lake Show is doing work! Kobe is on fire… If the Lakers keep playing like this it’ll be a smooth repeat!
