2010 College Football

Very interesting weekend results. I look forward to seeing the polls. Question here: If TCU is the only BCS team to beat a top 5 BCS ranked opponent, is that not a good argument for them being ranked #1 at the end of the year?

Reading on the topic: http://msn.foxsports.com/collegefootball/story/TCU-Horned-Frogs-make-big-statement-in-beating-Utah-Utes-110610

I really wish Stanford could’ve held on for the win when they played Oregon. It’interesting to think what the rankings would look like had they done that.

It’s looking more and more like a lock that Oregon and Auburn will meet in the championship…

^ if Auburn can win out, with the Bama loss the SEC is really up to Auburn to lose.

UF vs Auburn in atl? thoughts comments?

I think Auburn will rip them apart. Newton is simply dominant right now, and I think the media rumors will only add fuel to the raging fire.

yea that i know will prolli happen but u think UF can make it to the game? Big weekend against USC i just hope UF fields a somewhat competitive team…

on a side note some buddies from UCF are talking mad smack about UCF being ranked higher than UF on the USA today poll… thought it was worth a laugh…

What a weird year for football, Texas getting another horrible loss, Oklahoma losing again. My Huskers barely beating Iowa State. As of now, it looks like Nebraska vs. Okie State for the big 12 title. Sort of unreal, I always figured we be playing OU, but now it looks like we have OSU if we win the rest of our games.

I am so glad to have Bama lose, just because I got so SICK of hearing the nuthuggers of ESPMS <(not a typo) talk about how Bama deserves to play for the title even if there are undefeated teams.

Agreed, on all counts. While Bama has a great team, they are not getting it done this year. Maybe Iowa State is not as bad as we think?

Iowa State is better than people think, but we didn’t have our started or backup in the game, and we mostly did run plays. Also, Iowa State showed up with a different formation on offense and that thru off our defense. I give them a lot of credit, but I am thankful we got the win and the fact Hagg got the pick at the end to prevent them from winning.

What shocks me this year is that there is a strong chance that Texas win not go to a bowl game.

^ Shocks you I think it shocks everyone in the state. I really think this is a classic example that people just expected UT to walk right back into the mix after losing so much talent, even Mack and the players believed the hype. Sometimes coaches need to step back and start from scratch with competition etc. I dont think replacing Mack will help, but this season is over. Cause A&M is going to kill them.

reminds me of the gators this year… i knew when they were top 5 it was all hype esp with the “top recruiting class”…

but reed this weekend flashed some talent and when they started to put in the underclassman i liked what i saw… UF took like 5 of vandy’s players out of the game for a few plays altho that hit on stacy was scary im glad to hear the kid is fine…

Agreed. Auburn “should” win out with no problem. Which will put them in the NC game. LSU is poised to pick up a bid as well if they can defeat us, but that’s a big “if” after the way we played this weekend. But we seem to be inconsistent so who knows. I’m just glad to see Bama out of the running.

i really liked arkansas to win out the west this year too… after watching mallet vs uga last year i was a fan…

Any word on if Mallet is coming out for the draft next year?

cowboys looking?

^ We have an alumni as an owner so Yes.

I think old Jerry Jones jinx the whole state when he made his bold predictions about the cowboys this year.

Nothing official obviously but to everyone here it’s pretty much a foregone conclusion that he will declare. I personally have a few doubts but still believe he will declare. He still has yet to put together a year that just absolutely solidifies his abilities in EVERYBODY’S minds. We all know his arm strength but his decision-making is still a small question. He’s a thousand percent better than last year but occasionally he still just gets wonky for some reason and makes a horrible decision. But like I said, I still think he will declare.

We are expecting great things out of Wilson next year. He did a hell of a job coming in against Auburn for us.

Hey, BYU could go .500, right?

Oh wait, we play Utah. FMFH (eff my football hopes)

Well he has nobody to blame but himself, he hired the coach and he made the predictions. Hopefully he is a big enough man to fix the fucking problem.
