Heisman thoughts? Right now I think Robinson is definitely leading the way, and I would love to see that kid take home some hardware. I just don’t know if his can withstand all the punishment he’s taking, especially over the course of an entire season.

After Shoelaces, I think Mallet and Luck are next on my list. Thoughts?

I know it was Duke last night, but Ingram did not miss a beat. 9 rushes for 150 something yards, I think he will definitely still be in the Heisman race.

So… no one has anything to say about that Michigan State - Notre Dame game last night?!

Now THAT was a finish!

Gotta give a hell yea to my boys, stompin Auburn right now. Still 30 minutes to go and we need twice as much effort for this next half but so far so good, Harper stretchin out for that catch was a freakin mazing
Wow…hell of an ending
Aubarn stole our mascot, stole our fight song, stole our “ALL IN” slogan from 2008, and they stole that game.
A lot of things should have been called against both teams that weren’t called but the 3rd quarter couldn’t have gone much worse than it did. Giving up 3 TDs in one quarter is never good. I’m glad we fought back though, the only real complain I have after being in a game like that is why didn’t Ellington have more carries than he had? He averaged about 7 yards a carry.

I want to see if Lattimore can average 7+ ypc against Aubarn next week and see if the Gamecoot faithful are still screaming Heisman then. I guess what I’m saying is that Clemson has such a great pedigree when it comes to beastly running backs that I’m not really impressed by the one decent RB SCU has managed to sign this decade.

Well Texas is doing what they need to too win. I was able to see some of the Nebraska game and now I will say that they have a solid team with explosive QB.

I was proud of my Huskers this weekend, made a few mistakes, but overall a good game. I was especially happy how they make Jake Locker looked horrible, he was 4/20 with two picks. He is out of the Heisman race now.

I was on the road that morning before the game, and heard a stat that Locker has not beaten a top ten team. How much will he be hyped up come draft time? Man your QB if fucking lightening.

I am not sure, but I think Locker record is 1-11 against top ten teams. They beat USC last year. He has the skills but he is very raw, I think he will draft high, but whatever team takes him needs to groom him and not stick him in as a starter for 2-3 years.

yes, Taylor is fast, best run he has was first play in the 3rd quarter he fakes the hand off to the RB and takes it 80 yards for the TD. If he can develope his passing, I think he will be a great quarterback for NU.

Well I am not one of those fans that drink the Koolaid about Texas, Gilbert will take at least a season to mature. I love their Defense though, secondary is outstanding and I think they showed that in how they shut down Texas Tech. Problem is going to be that Gilbert will make rookie mistakes.

I think it takes any first year quarterback a good full season to learn an offense and not make the rookie type mistakes. Gilbert will be much improved next year and will have a better feel for the offense and be more in sync with his recievers.

That defense of Texas is pretty damn good. While Texas’s offense still has some things to figure out, their defense is strong enough to give them a chance to win every game.

I think what will ultimately cost Texas a loss or two is their inability to run the ball. Maybe they figure something out as the season goes along, but right now they are really struggling.

I agree, first two games with the stable of backs they did have some running game. I think Tech really wanted to stop the running game and make Gilbert beat them with his arm. I was not impressed with Tech overall, Tuberville will take a few years to get good recruiting classes to his style of defense. I just wonder if Tech will ditch the run and shoot and go to a more traditional SEC offense?

Bama @ Arkansas this weekend, going to be a slugfest.

DJHT- I think pretty soon they will switch it up to a more traditional SEC offense. I was reading some article about how its getting tougher and tougher for schools with a run and gun offense to recruit potential NFL caliber players. Have no idea if that is fact or not, but it makes sense to me.

^ I agree with that premise about decrease in NFL prospects. Lets face it college football is the JV for the NFL. If I was a young stud I would go to a place that #1 wins and #2 will prepare me for the next phase. In the grand scheme that is what college is for anyway prepare you for your career?

I would assume Tubbs will make a transition to that style of offense at some point. I think he will have trouble getting the types of athletes he wants though. I can’t imagine the Cadillac Williams-es of the world would want to go play ball in West Texas.

I am curious on how OU will play, against two unranked teams, the win by either 7 points or 3 points, but against FSU which was ranked #17 at the time i believe, that win by 30 points. Their offense just seems to be out of sorts. I am not sure what is going on with them.

Seriously, you know as much as I do.

For fuck’s sake, I follow the program really close. I follow the recruiting. I listen to guys on the radio five, sometimes six days a week (during football season) who follow OU, OSU and TU to lesser degree. These guys talk to the coaches privately, not just during press conferences. I feel like I have a pretty good knowledge of the talent level of this team what kind of season to expect.

Well, I was wrong. I have no idea what to expect from this team from week to week.

On paper and from what I have seen from Cincy, OU should win comfortably. If OU shows any interest in this game, they win by 17, maybe more. Historically, however, Stoops’s teams play poorly on the road, especially in the non conference. Their best win against a non-conference opponent on the road was Louisville in 1999. I think Louisville was 6-6 that year. So, while I have a good idea of what should happen (OU bounces back and plays well and looks focused), I have the past to tell me what is far more likely to be the case.

You are right about the offense, but one positive I can take from the season so far is that the offense tends to not shoot themselves in the foot with penalties and turnovers. They have played clean in that respect, thus far. This was not the case last year.
