After each team scored on the first drive, I thought “Well, this will be a helluva shootout…”

I guess I was right - it was a shootout… But OU was the only one doing any shooting. Two completely different teams, from week 1 to week 2. Boomer Sooner!
From the way Texas has been playing, I think it will be OU vs, NU in the Big 12 Championship. with my HUSKERS winning the Big 12 Title!

Honestly, I will be happy with just a winning season from my Huskies. Seattle area FB has been so horrendously abysmal the past few years, I think we’d be satisfied with that. I am currently invoking all possible deities for the game against Nebraska this weekend.

???

Ohio State has dominated their conference since Tressel has been coach.

And they ended last season beating the “fashionable” Oregon Ducks in the Rose Bowl.

I don’t follow.
Sorry, what I meant is that they will choke if they are playing florida in the title game…

gregron: i’m fairly certain all of their players, except pouncey, were playing out of their normal positions. They had a starting lineman out and switched everyone over to fill gaps. They haven’t been very confident with some of their freshman. Urban meyer also isnt too happy with his wide receiver back ups. So the starting receivers were playing pretty much the entire game.

Also, USF was a pretty good team last year. They lost a lot of good players up front on defense.

Now that florida is starting to establish their running game a little more, they will do just fine. The solid ground game will open up play action passes. Florida’s defense will stop ANY passing team.

I’m a little worried about SC but, i’m really wanting to see the game. The battle between spurrier and meyer should be epic. Lots of pulling shit out of their asses.

Bama will not be able to win the National title, even if they can beat florida. Their defense is too young.

I’m predicting 300 yards rushing against UT Saturday.

I think you will be pleasantly surprised with how UW plays this year. Steve Sarkisian is a great coach, and Jake Locker is one of the best QB’s in the Pac-10 and in the country as well. I think your prayers will be answered. Should you beat Nebraska this weekend, your team will be battle tested, and probably a contender for the Pac-10 title and Rose Bowl favorite. I could be jumping the gun, with Stanford being strong, but you will be in the running.

I don’t think there is one Husky fan who wouldn’t want to see him off his senior year with a Pac-10 title. We are all well aware of how good he is but there’s a bit of dismay at how poorly we’ve still performed during his tenure. Don’t get me wrong, I had high hopes for this season as well but the loss to BYU was a wee bit disheartening You’re right though, it’s still early in the season and Nebraska will be a great game to watch.

I think it will be great game, but I am curious on how my Husker defense will go after Locker, they need to keep him off balance, they can’t allow him in be in a rhythm.

Okay how has Texas been playing? Have you watched the games or just highlights? I am not going to comment on the Nebraska or Oklahoma games because I did not watch them and I will not comment off highlights.
DJHT wrote:

So-so on offense and good defensively.

A really good secondary they have.

I hesitate to say much else because Texas hasn’t really played anyone yet. This weekend’s Texas Tech game will give a better indication of where Texas is at.

Agreed on all points, I just do not think you should comment on a team from the box scores and highlights. Texas has a lot to work with but they are still working on fine tuning the offense, they are changing from the spread to convential O with zone blocking. I am not drinking the Kool-Aid and think they are will be back in the championship game. Honestly the only team that looks dominating so far this year has been Alabama.

Locker is a great QB but the rest of the team isn’t all that talented. If all you want is a winning record though you might get it.

Also, my guy feeling is that NU vs OU in this year title game. I also believe that Nu will beat Texas this year on Oct. 16.

I understand and its hard to predict some things, I havent seen nebraska yet this year, they better have really improved there offense from last year cause that Defense almost won that game.

Nebraska offense is better, but last game they had to many penalties and turnovers that the second half they only scored 7 points. They can’t do this against a good team like OU or Texas. They play Washington and Locker this saturday and that will be a good test for both the offense and defense.

Dude, legacyfighter, I’m about as much of a die-hard arrogant UF fan you’ll find this side of the country, and I have to agree with Stronghold. Part of being a fan is also being totally objective about the problems. And guess what… we have a lot of them, for the time being.

I actually think this weekends’ game against Tennessee is going to be a pretty good indicator of how the rest of the season is going. If we win by 30, we have a chance for a BCS game. If we win by 1-2 TDs, we’ll probably have a 9/10 win season, as Stronghold said. If it’s by 7 or less, or a loss, we’re fucked. Seriously.

And I do hope I’m wrong, definitely. The offense as a whole just looks “out of sync.” I will say, it’s unfortunate that the defense is getting so overlooked because of the incompetent offense, because holy fuck. The D is looking great, even with rotating in 3-4 Freshmen in on any given play. That’s not the issue.

They’re not letting Brantley get unchained enough (too many short passes, not enough of a vertical threat,) we can’t decide if we’re a spread team or a Pro-team, and I honestly can’t tell if we’re trying to run a zone-blocking scheme or not. It’s just that ugly right now.

Either way, although Alabama isn’t quite to the degree of where they were last year at this point, we only have UT and Kentucky (which are NOT easy games by any stretch of the imagination) before the showdown in Tuscaloosa.

Again, I truly hope I’m wrong.

ALSO::: Did anyone see Florida’s WR Chris Rainney was just arrested for aggravated stalking? WTF?!?!?!?!?!

We’re going to see a lot about of Florida this weekend. They should dismantle a terrible UT team, if they don’t I think thats a very bad sign for the gators. To their benefit they only have one tough game on the road which is week 5 against Bama in t-town.

Reggie Bush forfeits the Heisman…

Fuckin’ prick has the balls to say, “this victory was not just by me, but all my teammates.”

Hey Reggie, too bad that while the whole team won the trophy, it was ONLY YOU who lost it.

Why couldn’t Kim Kardashian give him some kind of VD ?
