Not so sure about a remarkable coach… Wasn’t he aware of the number of violations USC was committing??? We had him up here in New England and he just isn’t a pro coach, but he is a good college coach…

I’ve almost given up on my Buffs… After my years there with McCartney era, winning the Orange bowl and producing some great talent, they’ve fallen too far to even be ranked the last few years.

Yeah…don’t let the door hit you on the way out of the Big XII.

I grew up in Boulder, so I have to either be a rabid CU fan or a rabid hater.

HaHaHaHa no way you can go for FSU being a Florida fan (my family is from Florida so it is always one or the other) suprised you picked Miami. I was going to put the Oregon/UT game but I think UT is a few years away from being competitive.[/quote]

I’m telling you… my gut instinct is telling me to go with FSU. I know they only played Samford, but check to see if my logic is valid or not;

1.) Jimbo Fischer is a young coach. I’ve noticed, traditionally, that young coaches tend to play more towards the strengths of their players/teams rather than bull-headed “coaching philosophies” that older coaches rely on (er, ahem, a certain Bowden.) Admit it… it’s kind of true.

2.) I don’t think OU is going to be much better than a 4-loss team this year, maybe 3. The only benefit I’m giving OU, really, is the home-field advantage.

3.) FSU hasn’t really had to play on a National Stage like the Sooners have the last few years… that experience alone is probably enough to push them over.

I know it sounds crazy, but I do actually want FSU to win… so hopefully the Gators can beat them, and gain more value in the BCS. No ulterior motives whatsoever…

AND… concerning Tennessee, I know Lane Kiffin is gone (who is a douche, for sure,) but he brought a pretty good recruiting class in last year, most of which stayed. They got some really good young talent at running back in the front/mid defense. Obviously they lost Berry who is irreplacable, but I think the Vols are going to bring more wood this year than most are expecting. Again, probably SEC bias though.

Your Dawgs are going to CRUSH South Carolina this weekend.

I’m a Clemson boy, through and through, so the only team I hate more than Georgia is SCU.

I actually agree on most of these points is the reason why I think it will be close. However on the big stage inexperience makes a big difference and FSU will fuck up. Tennessee is my home state so I always have a place in my heart for them. But total change of offense and defense schemes even effect the pro’s much less kids who cant spend all there time learning it. So yes a couple of years to be really competitive.

FML just looked at the schedule and rankings… boise state and tcu are gonna be in the national championship game and its gonna be fucking retarded.

I don’t like the “new offense” Texas is running but I guess thats all we have to work with with the players given. There were a ton of mistakes… Williams is never fucking consistent and botched two punt returns, 2 missed field goals(new kicker sucks ass), shitty decisions from gilbert although he did make some impressive ones(also hes young)… but there were way more just can’t remember anymore… by the tech game we’ll know if texas is gonna even last the entire season.

oh yeah 4th and inches on the goal line and wee don’t score… against fucking rice.

Boise State has been better than USC, Texas and most other teams for the last four or so years.

It doesn’t matter anyway college football will always be inferior to other sports competitions like college basketball until it drops the BSC and implements a playoff system. At what point do you say enough to stupid opinion polls and ‘expert’ perceptions of who is better than who. It’s time to reward the athletes and reward the fans.

I hope my comments sounded political, it was my intention.

^^How do you jude what is inferior and superior? Personal opinion or the amount of viewers, fans, TV ratings, revenue ect.?

Hey West Coast did you see the release from the Heisman Trust? No decision has been made and they said they havent even had a meeting on weather or not to take away his trophy.

“The status of the USC/Bush matter remains unchanged. Any reports to the contrary are inaccurate,” Dockery said.

“They haven’t made a decision. No announcement is imminent,” Fowler said Tuesday. “They have not had any formal meetings about this.”

It’s inferior because there’s no playoff…?

^^Whats the question mark for?

Surely this is a matter that’s never been discussed once in college football, ever!!!

Also there is NOBODY in this thread that has influence on the system itself. You want to talk politics then go the political forum. Nobody here gives a shit what you think. This is the system in place and we have a love for the game. So unless you have a team and some predictions GTFO and have a nice day.

^HA!!! Fookin’ DJ.

^ sorry print I started this thread and not going to see it get off topic for some kid in fucking new zealand off all places.

New polls are out, it seems as they really punished a lot of teams for having subpar performances.

This is a thread about college football. So I was talking college football. If you don’t want to talk about it that’s fine but you know it’s true.

As for a team, I’ll be rooting for Boise State. You have to love the blue field.

Yeah but I bet I could still whip your ass in fantasy.
