It doesn’t matter anyway college football will always be inferior to other sports competitions like college basketball until it drops the BSC and implements a playoff system. At what point do you say enough to stupid opinion polls and ‘expert’ perceptions of who is better than who. It’s time to reward the athletes and reward the fans.
I hope my comments sounded political, it was my intention.
Surely this is a matter that’s never been discussed once in college football, ever!!!
Also there is NOBODY in this thread that has influence on the system itself. You want to talk politics then go the political forum. Nobody here gives a shit what you think. This is the system in place and we have a love for the game. So unless you have a team and some predictions GTFO and have a nice day.
This is a thread about college football. So I was talking college football. If you don’t want to talk about it that’s fine but you know it’s true.
As for a team, I’ll be rooting for Boise State. You have to love the blue field.
Glad you have a team, I like the attitude of Boise State. It is a circular argument about the system, and again we have no influence over it what so ever. I hope you now understand I do not feel we need a chest thumping I know what is best discussion about the system. And No I dont like the blue field but I do agree it takes balls to fuck with other teams by doing it.

Yeah but I bet I could still whip your ass in fantasy.
Maybe, but I didnt come into a thread with NO predictions only an opinion about something every body has fucking beat like a dead horse. So far you have not contributed to this thread with a knowledge of football and I have. SO for predicting you can beat me in fantasy leaves you looking like what?
I’m looking at Md’s sched. & I know they were 2-10 last yr, but I ca easily see them going 10-2 w/a semi soft sched. Toughest games are at Clemson & Miami & home for FSU… So w/a few a breaks, we may get a turn around.

I loved that play against Navy where the DB jumped over the line, gets a sack and causes a fumble.

If we (Clemson) lose to Maryland again this year (last year SHOULD NOT have happened), then heads are going to roll. We looked like we had some tuning up to do on defense and especially our secondary (HELLO, LINEBACKERS?) on Saturday, but the offense looks decent. Our offense line has been young the past couple of years so, despite losing Sr. Thomas Austin last year I think the line will be better than years past. Andre Ellington and Jamie Harper are both looking to carry on Clemson’s tradition of high powered running offense, and Kyle Parker will hopefully have the opportunity to rack up some passing yards this season now that he’s got a stronger line giving him time to throw.
^^Can you believe the def was on the field for 84 plays! Than add to that a goal line stance. If that doesn’t boost confidence going into the season, nothing will.
And to slow down a Heisman candidate in Dobbs too. Something to get excited about outside of the Voo & Thurs night dollar pitcher night.

Md v Clemson has become A under the radar rivalry. Ends up always being a good game.

Yeah, that play kind of reminds me of this.
Well I cant see this at work however knowing you that would have to be Roy Williams jumping over the line and sacking Simms? Still not cool.

I don’t know what you were watching last year, but that’s not exactly how I define “good game”.
It’s been a grudge match for a long time, ever since Md cheated Clemson out of the ACC championship in 1985 with the WORST CALL EVER.

Hey West Coast did you see the release from the Heisman Trust? No decision has been made and they said they havent even had a meeting on weather or not to take away his trophy.
“The status of the USC/Bush matter remains unchanged. Any reports to the contrary are inaccurate,” Dockery said.
“They haven’t made a decision. No announcement is imminent,” Fowler said Tuesday. “They have not had any formal meetings about this.”
I did speak a little to soon.
Turns out that the Heisman Trust meets on the second Tuesday of every month, thus they will be meeting this coming Tuesday. They will discuss a number of issues, but a vote on Bush’s Heisman Trophy will be the obvious hot topic.
In order to strip a former winner of his Heisman, 6 of the 8 members will need to vote in favor of taking away the trophy. It should be a very interesting meeting.

I’m certainly not going to shed any tears over this if Bush is stripped of the Heisman, but there is an instance or two of former Heisman winners breaking rules (and laws) and were still allowed to keep their trophy.
In 1971 Nebraska’s Johnny Rodgers was arrested for robbing a gas station in Lincoln (IIRC). I think he was suspended for a game or two, but of course Bob Devaney allowed him to play against OU in the “Game of the Century”. The following year, Rogers won the Heisman.
Personally, I hope they do take the Heisman away from Bush, and this is coming from an alum. He has disgraced the school, the program, the sport, and the fans.
