2010 College Football

Honestly, I think the most hilarious thing would be if USC went undefeated. They can’t make a bowl and thus have no shot at the national title, that would be the ultimate torture.

GO STANFORD.
That is what I am hoping for, USC to go undefeated and miss the bowl game, thus screwing up the argument over who is the real national champion.

Out of all the teams I want revenge on, YOU (Stanford) is the team I am most hungry for. Why? Jim Harbaugh. He lacks a humble side, I hate that. Look at all the great coaches (Bowden, Paterno, Tressel, etc) and they all know how to handle a victory. This guy needs the whole humble pie to himself.

I can’t wait to see Boise State get whooped by VA Tech. I want them to get a good dose of true D1 football.
Harbaugh is a great coach, and a great person. I think your judgement is a little off. You might also want to examine the character of both the past and present coaches at USC before you start critiquing those at others schools…

Also, I was at the Stanford/USC game a couple years ago at USC, and that last second win we pulled off against you (against a 40+ point spread) was one of the sweetest things ever. Seeing those snobby spoiled brats walking around crying after losing to the Cardinal, in their own house, was pure bliss.

Well Florida did not cover it self in glory today.

Harbaugh complains way too much when shit doesn’t go his way. I know all coaches throw tantrums, but he has this attitude of “how dare you throw a flag against my team” that I don’t like.

As far as me critiquing my coaches, do you realize how many coaches and teams have done and are doing what USC did, yet didn’t get caught? Do you know what my old O-Line coach Mike Barry used to say? If the ref didn’t see it, you didn’t do it. That is the mantra for ethics in Division-1 NCAA football.

Did Reggie Bush taking money lead to…

 1. A very prolific offense and defense for yrs?

 2. 3 Heisman Trophy winners?

 3. 7 straight Pac-10 titles?

 4. A couple of National Championships?

 5. 8 out of 9 defensive players to be drafted with the first 2 rounds of the 2010 NFL Draft?

 6. A coaching style that has been unmatched in yrs, Pete Carroll got the very best assistant coaches available, and developed both a game plan and preparation strategy that has been proven to work.

I am sick and tired of hearing this argument that the ONLY reason USC has succeeded in recent yrs is because of Reggie Bush. Cousin please, they had awesome receivers, QB’s, O-line, with a defense that was NFL style in both caliber of athletes and style of play.

I know your a little sad because of the backside beat down Stanford laid on your Trojans last year, but there’s no need to cry about it.

I don’t get why Stanford fans would talk shit about anybody. I’m no USC fan but when you get excieted about a 8-5 season you shouldn’t be talking shit to anyone.

This is a thread about sports, more specifically college football, which revolves around rivalries. At the heart of rivalries, and good inter-conference battles, is competition between teams and between fans. Nowhere did I ever say that Stanford was a better team, I was simply recalling what we have done in the recent past, and stirring the pot.

I am pretty sure that people (besides you JoeGood) in this thread understand the good nature of sporting rivalries, and that all the shit talking here is done so in a sporting manner.

What would sports be if fans couldn’t talk up their teams and talk down their rivals?

I’m sure the shit talking is done in a sporting manner. I’m also saying that some teams performance on the field makes any shit talking by their fans asinine. Its why Northwestern and Vanderbilt fans aren’t known for doing it.

Its all about The U. Miami Hurricanes baby. Jacory Harris looked solid in the first game. The defense looks sharp. Can’t wait to shut the Buckeyes up.

What are you talking about? Are you aware of what the score was for the Stanford/USC game last year? Get real man. I’m not saying Stanford is some powerhouse, but their performance on the field last year was nothing to look down on.

Just got back from the game also, and even though it was against Sac State, Luck looked amazing (17/23, 320 yds, 4 TDs).

What’s more amazing is BSU’s 6% graduation rate for 4-year students. That’s almost as bad as the fact that they can only graduate 28% overall.

Wait’ll they come up to the Kibbie Dome in Moscow. Nate Enderle and Shiloh Keo are going to give us all a nice upset.

You do know why they have blue turf right? They do it so their women don’t graze on it.

I was rather shocked by the performance. I didn’t expect a blowout. I didn’t think things were going to be great, but I couldn’t have predicted what I saw today. The converted guard playing center (Pouncey) was helpless. 13 botched snaps. They didn’t let John Brantley take it deep down the field enough. They’re not setting up blocks for someone like Jeff Demps (their RB, probably the fastest player in the nation.) I was flat-out confused about what I saw today.

On the bright side, the defense looked stellar… and they were playing with a LOT of true Freshmen today - that gets me excited. I’m a fan of defensive dominance over offense any day.

And boy oh boy, did the UNC vs LSU match-up turn out to be a hell of a game or what?

Thems fightin words… the Shoe, Saturday, at dawn. I shall be there for our duel!
SSC wrote:
Jesus Christ, Steve Addazio should be slapped. A pitch on 4th and 1 from the goal line set? Give me a break. If they were whoring out John Brantley’s arm they’d be up by 10 points right now.
Miami played with a lot of balls, and that’s what made UF look so bad. That coach knew Miami was basically getting paid to come to the swamp and lose, so they called EVERY play like it was third and goal. No holding back, just a shit ton of hustle. I was impressed.

You heard it here first, your Gators are going to get beat like prison dick in SEC play. Florida State will give them plenty of trouble too if they keep that shit up.

I think UNC can claim a moral victory. 400+ passing yards? No points scored in the second half? Forced fumble with 1:00 to go and a 50 yard drive in 50 seconds? All with half of your teem and your ENTIRE secondary suspended or injured? JFC.
SSC wrote:

Ya that is not an encouraging game if you are an LSU fan. A few big strike offensive plays, and a lot of return yards against a depleted special teams(I think they said 5-6 of the suspended players were starting on special teams as well as defense); they didn’t actually have any sustained offense going for them, and the UNC offense put up a respectable 24 points. 14-0 in the 2nd half, they just had too big of a hole to dig out of at that point from the big return game.

There was quite a bit of sloppy play from some high ranked teams today, first year QB’s trying to take over for 4 year starters going to leave some potential vulnerabilities for these early weeks. But hey, that’s why you schedule cupcakes week 1 and your decent OOC matchups for week 2 or 3.

Miami is garbage. Who’d they whip up on again? An FCS school? Who cares.

The days of “Tha U” are over and gone, they don’t monopolize the South Florida recruiting market like they did in the 80’s. With FSU, UF, the various smaller universities in-state, and even my Clemson tigers and other schools farther north snatching high rated recruits from South Florida, the U as it once was is gone forever.

THE (Ohio State) U is going to wipe the ground at the Shoe with Miami next weekend, you heard it here first.

UNC played really well against LSU. That was a fun game to watch. Kept me guessing until the last second. Literally.

Do I sense the jealous ramblings of an Idaho fan? Who cares about graduation, we stomp ye on the field and nothings gonna change this year.

The comment about the blue turf made me lol though.

This is the making for a great weekend. USC won, UCLA lost, and I am counting down the time til Boise State gets stomped. There is no way they are as good as their ranking, NOT EVEN CLOSE.

I kind of feel the same way, but as a life long VT hater, I always feel that way about Tech. I think Boise State with 20 returning starters is going to be a really dangerous team.

Don’t forget that Florida and Texas looked fairly shaky in their wins over crap opponents. Every game like that brings us one step closer to the day CUM retires (again). And somewhere in Texas, Mack Brown is kicking his feet, shaking his rattle, and making a Texas-sized fuss. Wahhhhh!

And is a Stanford fan really talking shit to a USC fan? First, I never got the rationale of talking shit to a team that you beat in a wild upset. It’s like saying, “Man we are so fucking pathetic—I mean really fucking pathetic—and we barely beat you, so that makes you just like us: pretty fucking pathetic! In your face, fellow pathetic bitch!”

I can’t wait until the cunt Harbaugh tosses Stanford aside like some cum-filled condom to take the Michigan job after Rich Rod is fired. Harbaugh is a good coach, but he is a classless human being. This has nothing to do with him beating us twice in the last three years. (I have no hatred toward Mike Riley, for example.) It has everything to do with him being a POS. Deep down, you know what I’m talking about if you’re a Stanford fan. And trust me, the football gods do not approve.
