I didn’t watch OKC-DEN last night (past my bedtime), but can anyone tell me why Westbrook took 30 shots and Durant took 18?
Same here. I fell asleep at half time (I’m on east coast) but I saw they were yelling at each other about something during a timeout. The commentators believed it was about Westbrook chucking up too many shots.

Does anyone know what the argument was about?
Im thinking Westbrook is uncoachable. Durant is obviously the better player. To not even try and kick the ball to an open man is unexcusable.

OKC wont be in finals cause Westbrooks 30 shot nights wont get them there.
Keep in mind he is only 22. You don’t want to reign in that aggresiveness too much because that’s part of what makes him so good. He just needs to stop taking so many damn long jumpers. He’s great at attacking the rim but gets more pleasure draining jump shots. Everyone wants to do what they suck at… I am best in the post but I get way more pleasure draining 3s. I just have the self restraint not to try…hopefully he either learns that or improves his shot.
Who would you want to take the last shot, durant or westbrook? all else being equal.

MY moneys on durant, I just think he is the future face of the league. After his contract is up Durant will go to a winner and OMG look out NBA

What is next super team?

CP3 to the knicks would be pretty sweet.

Kevin Love to a couple teams would also make a beast of a team.

Hey why not kevin love and durant to the magic. Fucking heat not even best team in Florida then

lets be honest, durant is going to end up a laker before his career is over.

Calling bullshit on Kobe’s ankle “injury”. Refuse MRI = you’re faking it and you know it. He’s always had a bit of showman in him, like shooting jumpers for hours after the game so the media can rave about his work ethic. Now he can go off tonight, grimace a few times and everybody will be talking about how tough he is. And if he plays like shit, he has a built in excuse.

And Stern is going to help the Thunder get to the finals. With a lockout looming he needs proof that small-market teams can win in the NBA. Dude cares about money and nothing else. And if anybody has been watching the Blazers/Mavs series, the officiating has been a travesty. On one hand this has been one of the most entertaining playoffs in a while, on the other I’m starting to lose faith in the NBA.

Did you not see the video? Kobe rolled completely over the top of the ankle, it looked pretty bad. Showman or not he’s got probably a grade 1 sprain, he refused the MRI because if it were grade 2 or worse the team doctors would be in his ear non stop telling him to sit out.

Edit: Also, Kobe won’t use a built in excuse. If he plays like garbage it’s because he plays like garbage, that’s how people that good work. The moment he decided he’s playing in the game he removed his ability to use the injury as an excuse. We’ve had conversations like this a few times in the past few years about a handful of different players.

lol.

I’m guessing he didnt watch the video and is just a Kobe hater.

nah. he already signed a 5 year extension with OKC. The ownership will do everything they can to keep him there.

Charles Barkley said the exact same thing I did at half time. Kobe is faking it and everybody outside of LA knows it.

You should change the name of this thread to Lakers Circle Jerk, not much real discussion going on here

Whatever Kobe’s ‘team’(I didn’t know he had personal doctors and didn’t use the Lakers personnel) did for him it apparently worked wonders. Not a career night or anything but he’s moving very well around the court; I didn’t expect him to tank but I didn’t think he’d have what might be his best all around game of the series(scored a ton game 1 but didn’t have a whole lot of defensive repsonsibility).

You’re an idiot.

Guessing you don’t pay much attention to the NBA. Durant re-signed this past off-season. But, I’m starting to think Westbrook might bolt. He seems to be buying into his own hype and I don’t know how long he’s willing to play 2nd banana on a team, even one with as much potential as OKC. I really hope for basketball’s sake that that doesn’t go down.

I’ll let the irony here slide because I know you have a man crush on Kobe

That was just a ridiculous display on the boards by the Lakers.

I think it’s safe to say the Lakers have this one, not going to bother staying up late.

Kinda disappointed by today’s games. Was hoping for some drama.

It was everyone outside of LA that didnt know that…

Indeed, but you acted like Charles “I’ve had 4 whiskey sours and it’s not quite Noon” Barkley is a credible source. Bryant busted his ankle, didn’t make a big deal about it, came in and played an easy game. Looks like it wasn’t as bad as people feared. Pretty simple.

Oh, good call on the Chi/Indy game Greg. Missed the game but thought Indy would’ve put up a better fight.

I hope Westbrook/Durant doesn’t turn out to be like Marbury/Garnett. I’m picking OKC to be the team of the future if they can keep an up and coming 22yr old Ibaka in the mix.

Also wanted to say that I didn’t see the ATL/ORL game tonight, but watched the Hawks win the other day [first time I’ve seen 'em all season] and the Hawks win strictly off of talent. Outside of Hinrich and Hilton Armstrong, NO ONE on that team knows how to play winning basketball. They are an absolute mess to watch. If Orlando loses to them they should be fucking ashamed of themselves.

Marbury/Garnett, wow does that bring back memories. And Tom Gugliotta(or however you spell his name haha).

thanks man

3 for 3!!!

I knew LA was going to “Take it to” NO last night. 6 guys in double figures? Thats what I’m talking about… I also knew Indy was gonna fold up in that game. They had put in too hard of an effort in those first three loses… it was bound to happen.

I definitely did not see the balanced scoring coming from Orlando though, especially with how shitty everyone not named Howard or Nelson has played. If they can continue playing like that then they’ll take this series home and could cause problems in the next round… just not sure if they’ll fall back into that shooting slump or not?
