2010-2011 NBA Season 3.0

Also wanted to say that I didn’t see the ATL/ORL game tonight, but watched the Hawks win the other day [first time I’ve seen 'em all season] and the Hawks win strictly off of talent. Outside of Hinrich and Hilton Armstrong, NO ONE on that team knows how to play winning basketball. They are an absolute mess to watch. If Orlando loses to them they should be fucking ashamed of themselves.
You mean you don’t think Josh Smith should have taken 150 threes this year??

ATL has proven pretty convincingly they don’t want to listen to coaches. Their home fans BOO Smith when he takes 3s.

I didn’t watch OKC-DEN last night (past my bedtime), but can anyone tell me why Westbrook took 30 shots and Durant took 18?
Same here. I fell asleep at half time (I’m on east coast) but I saw they were yelling at each other about something during a timeout. The commentators believed it was about Westbrook chucking up too many shots.

Does anyone know what the argument was about?
Im thinking Westbrook is uncoachable. Durant is obviously the better player. To not even try and kick the ball to an open man is unexcusable.

OKC wont be in finals cause Westbrooks 30 shot nights wont get them there.
Keep in mind he is only 22. You don’t want to reign in that aggresiveness too much because that’s part of what makes him so good. He just needs to stop taking so many damn long jumpers. He’s great at attacking the rim but gets more pleasure draining jump shots. Everyone wants to do what they suck at… I am best in the post but I get way more pleasure draining 3s. I just have the self restraint not to try…hopefully he either learns that or improves his shot.
Who would you want to take the last shot, durant or westbrook? all else being equal.

MY moneys on durant, I just think he is the future face of the league. After his contract is up Durant will go to a winner and OMG look out NBA
Of course Durant should take the last shot but it’s not that easy - if you watch the games, a lot of times teams are able to muscle him out of the spot he’s trying to receive the ball and it forces Westbrook to improvise. Dude has gotta hit the weight room at some point, it’s keeping him from being effective at crucial times.

Knicks pick up Billups option.

^ called it.

Ah fuck. Let’s hope he can stay healthy all year. It’s only for one season right? I can live with that.

Anybody know if Chris Paul is a free agent this off-season or next?

John - CP is a free agent after next season I believe.

Sam - yeah for 1 year I believe its a good move and it seems it will keep melo happy. Now depending on what changes there are in free agency I wonder what manuverability the Knicks will have as I believe the 14 mil puts the knicks over the cap as it stands now.

I think the move to keep Billups was a good one, barring a lockout (but thatd just be bad luck, anyway). I think Billups is a pretty big injury concern, but hes not just being kept for his role on the court. Hes also trade bait, and the Knicks dont have a lot else to trade if they want new players.

cp and dwight to charlotte called it first (on here)

Listened to ESPN’s Colin Cowherd on the radio today. Basically he said next year the Lakers will probably get only through the first round.
Then after the 2011 season, Andrew Bynum and Lamar Odom come off the books and then 2012, hello to Dwight Howard and CP3 (or Deron Williams or Westbrook).

lol

Agreed, and there really is no other FA pg next year that is worth signing, other than possibly Arron Brooks, who will probably be resigned by the suns anyway.

Rumors swirling that Wilson Chandler will be headed back to the knicks next year…if they can somehow make that happen Im all for it.

lets be honest, durant is going to end up a laker before his career is over.
Guessing you don’t pay much attention to the NBA. Durant re-signed this past off-season. But, I’m starting to think Westbrook might bolt. He seems to be buying into his own hype and I don’t know how long he’s willing to play 2nd banana on a team, even one with as much potential as OKC. I really hope for basketball’s sake that that doesn’t go down.
I was aware. In my opinion OKC wont put the pieces around him to win and he will demand a trade ala Melo from Denver. Purely speculation but I wont be surprised when it happens.

Charles Barkley said the exact same thing I did at half time. Kobe is faking it and everybody outside of LA knows it.

You should change the name of this thread to Lakers Circle Jerk, not much real discussion going on here
You’re an idiot.
Oh, well with a well thought response like that I cant help but see your point of view. lol

I don’t know if you’ve been watching the last 2 months, but OKC already has the pieces to win. I can easily see them coming out of the west. I don’t know if they can beat a Boston or a Miami yet, but they are absolutely title contenders.

Where the fuck is DeJuan Blair. Why was DeJuan Blair not on the fucking basketball court. Fuck this shit. You know you’re in trouble when you need a Gary Neal 3 to survive elimination against the number 8 seed. Where the fuck is the hustle from this San Antonio team?

I’d be far more ready to compare Durant to Garnett when it comes to a situation like the team he plays for. Kid is never going to demand a trade because he’s not ‘that guy.’

I hope he doesn’t. I hope he stays in Denver and they build something around the talent they have now. Denver doesn’t really need 'Melo, the man is overrated and the fact that Denver is not out in 4 games and the Knicks are is all the evidence you need to prove that. I don’t even like Boston this year but I was happy to see them sweep NY. They basically gave 'Melo, STAT and NY’s “reinvigorated fanbase” a big FU. Beautiful.

im sorry but westbrook just stole that pass after the inbounds turn over. Durant would have scored. westbrook needs to feed durant imo
