2010-2011 NBA Season 3.0

If I didn’t know better(and they weren’t playing in Boston to make it obvious) I’d think NY were the superior/favored team, and are just struggling to cope with injuries; instead of the alternative playing out that is Boston struggling hard to win games against a team missing 2 of it’s top 3 players, 1 of whom happened to destroy them in game 1(and has historically given KG nightmares). Allen is 4-4 from 3, Rondo is abusing the lack of Chauncey on defense, and Pierce is shooting well, and the game is close? Sounds absurd.
Yeah I was on a blog at NBA.com just the other day and I was surprised how many people felt this Boston team was done for championship wise…

im gonna be sick, Jeffries has to go up with that I dont care if that douche was draped all over him, you cant look to pass there, man missing Amare in that play really hurt, they doubled the fuck out of melo, if Amare was there it may have not been that easy to double.

fucking heartbreaker

Poor Matty.

It’s not fair bro, it’s just not fair. Two close losses in a row and the injuries…you gotta imagine the Knicks are not in high spirits right now.

That was tough on me too…I’m no Knicks fan but I do want to see Boston get worked.

Being in this thread right now is like standing beside someone who lost a family member or something.

Cheer up Matty.

I mean, what do you even say?

Do you go for the quadruple post? I think you do.

EDIT: Whatever man I’m out. Fuck this tragic world.

Thanks Larry, I have resorted to hanging out with my buddy Mr. Jack Daniels, I unfortunately started to think how awesome it would be to go back to the Garden tied at 1-1.

DAMN DAMN DAMN!!!

Ya, tough break for the Knicks. I wouldn’t usually say ‘that team definitely wins with player X’ because it’s typically too ambiguous to state… but I just don’t see a way they don’t finish game 1 if Chauncey doesn’t go down, and game 2 is probably not close with STAT in there.

That could be my anti-Boston bias at work, I really wanted to see them lose this game.

Magic Won, finally played defense the way they know how.

I followed the Knicks game on the TV Companion (couldn’t find a proper stream), I was sure they would hold on to win with barely a minute left to play. Then KG gets a turn around jumper to put the Celtics up by 1, followed by a Jeffries turnover that basically sealed the deal. Although, I will add that I was surprised to see Bill Walker’s name came up on the Play-by-Play board at the very end. I didn’t have visuals so I assume the Celtics took away 'Melo and he was their only option. Or did they have to go full court because they ran out of timeouts?

Do you guys think this series bt. NY and BOS is making Miami kind of happy? If the Heat face a Celtics team like the one we’ve witnessed during their first two playoff games I think we can rule out another Celtics title run.

I never realized people hated Boston teams so much haha. I mean I hate the Pats, but like all the other teams. I’ve always been a fan of Amare and Melo, so I def. do like this Knicks team. I mean DAMN! they have a very bright future once they pick up a couple peices to put around those two.

I hope Amar’e is good to go on Friday.

Are CHI fans worried yet??

Cause two games in and the analogy to those James-led CLE squads (ie. having only ONE guy who can create a shot/shots for others) still seems appropriate…
Not a CHI fan but, would you worry about your team when they’re up 2-0?

Personally I would wait until they lost a game.
I didn’t catch game 2 but I’m a little worried. They’re facing the 8th ranked team.

What will happen when they face Atlanta/Orlando, and then Boston/Miami?

At the end of the day though, Chicago’s defense is WAY better than Cleveland’s was last year. And Chicago is a much more well rounded team than Cleveland last year. Way better options for scoring, even if they haven’t showed up the way one would hope so far.
Y’all are also forgetting that Hansbrough went out for a bit in game 1 and Collison was out for close to 3 quarters in game 2. Chicago has not looked the way they need to for probably 95% of both games, and if Collison doesn’t go down I think Indy takes game 2. If he comes back for game 3 and can play his usual game I think they take it.

I didn’t think of those things. Well, hopefully it’s just nerves or something with Chicago, or something they’ll get over. Now I’m starting to get nervous.

These injuries to the under dogs are really disappointing.

Indiana loses Collison, NYK loses Amare and Billups, and Hornets lose Aaron Grey ( huge with David West out).

Maybe we won’t see any upsets this round :stuck_out_tongue:

They had no timeouts left for the final offensive play. They doubled Melo, he got it in to Jeffries under the basket. And for some stupid fuckin reason, instead of taking up to the rim like a man, he got scared and nervous and tried to do some weak shuffle pass to a guy 4 feet away. Turnover. If he would’ve went up strong, KG would’ve either blocked his shot or fouled him. But at least they would get a chance to score.

Walker wasn’t really involved in that play. They fouled with .6 second left and maybe Walker was the one that chucked the last full court shot up. At that point it didn’t matter anyway so I stopped paying attention. They had 4 seconds left and they didn’t guard the inbound aggressively so it took 3 seconds before they actually made the last foul.

I don’t know man. He is a “role model” an he has two young daughters… I think he probably feela bad that he got caught saying it and that it was all over TV. It’s not good PR. I’m sure he wants kids to look up to him and since the Denver thing he’s had a pretty good rap… I think he’s legit sorry that it turned into a big thing when by saying “faggot” he meant the same as calling him a “fucker”, “asshole”, “douche” or a “bitch”… Ya know what I’m saying?

But if he can play as good or better than he did last game and lead the lakers to a decisive victory in game tow I don’t care if he calls everyone on the Hornets fags in the post game interview! Just get the damn W! Lol

Agreed. Though I suppose injuries are hugely disappointing at all times.

Back in '89 and a different LAL squad going for three-peat - lose B Scott with a hamstring prior to Game 1, lose E Johnson to a hamstring mid-Game 2 - so, starting backcourt gone, and this was during the Finals round
