2010-2011 NBA Season 3.0

CHICAGO BULLS fan here…

I’m not worried. Those past 2 games were some of the worst the Bulls have played, but I have no doubt they’ll play better and more consistently. Why?..

The Bulls tend to play up and down to their opponents. They’ll beat the Pacers by 2 or 3, but they’ll also beat the Lakers or Heat by 3. It’s fucking retarded, but that’s what they do.

But if they play like shit again, I want Thibodeau to be foaming at the fucking mouth.

And LoL @ Noah… what a garbage man. If he ever dribbles the ball again, … well, he better not.

LMAO

LOL I think Kobe is bullshitting thru his teeth when talking about the faggot comment. I’m sure he doesnt give a fuck
I don’t know man. He is a “role model” an he has two young daughters… I think he probably feela bad that he got caught saying it and that it was all over TV. It’s not good PR. I’m sure he wants kids to look up to him and since the Denver thing he’s had a pretty good rap… I think he’s legit sorry that it turned into a big thing when by saying “faggot” he meant the same as calling him a “fucker”, “asshole”, “douche” or a “bitch”… Ya know what I’m saying?

I hate the guy(Kobe that is) but I think you are 100% right Gregron.

These injuries to the under dogs are really disappointing.

Indiana loses Collison, NYK loses Amare and Billups, and Hornets lose Aaron Grey ( huge with David West out).

Agreed. Though I suppose injuries are hugely disappointing at all times.

Back in '89 and a different LAL squad going for three-peat - lose B Scott with a hamstring prior to Game 1, lose E Johnson to a hamstring mid-Game 2 - so, starting backcourt gone, and this was during the Finals round
That is true, but I’m sure everyone in this thread would welcome KG losing a leg or anyone on BOS for that matter

The news made that whole Kobe deal way worse than it could have been. The VAST majority of people got to see him say it not live, but afterword.

I feel bad for him that the camera was on him when he said it. That isn’t to say he wasn’t in the wrong for using that word.

Honestly, if he’s sorry why is he fighting the fine?

If you feel you did something wrong why would you try to avoid the punishment?

Maybe 'cause it was taken out of context? He didn’t call the guy “faggot” as in “you’re a homosexual”, he called him “faggot” as in “that was an awful call, jerkoff”. And, no matter how much money you make 100k is a lotta dough.

$100k man.

But he’s wrong for doing it. That could have easily been a one game suspension [how much does he make er game anyway?].

Dude, the guy makes more than that a game. WAY more.

his salary is over $24 million/year

A 100K fine is almost 200K worth of earnings if you account for tax… That’s a lot of money man… Especially in this economy

I wonder how that breaks down, if tax actually comes into play on a work imposed fine? I guess it would, 'cause if he’s making 24 mil a year it’s actually closer to 15 after fed taxes, and that’s not taking into account state taxes. Damn haters just stealing Kobe’s money!

No matter what way you slice it, saying faggot in any context is going to be offensive.

Just because he didn’t say “I hate faggots” and used it as a synonym for jerkoff doesn’t make it any less fine worthy.

I also disagree, 100k for someone worth over 150 million dollars isn’t a lot of money.

I dunno man. 100k feels bad no matter how rich you are. Think of how many boob-jobs for mistresses 100k could buy.

Penalties and fines are not deductible from taxable income. Actually studying US tax right now :stuck_out_tongue:

its still a lot of money man. theres a big difference between being worth 150 mill and having 150 mill. (<–A lot of that is earning potential)

you can disagree all you want but that still doesnt make $100,000 cash “not a lot of money.”

Well, it’s pretty clear that David Stern wants the Thunder to advance. The Nuggs are playing 5-on-8 out there. That is some of the most one-sided officiating I’ve ever seen.

Nope

Net Worth = Total Assets - Total Liabilities

In the end there’s no measuring stick for what constitutes “a lot of money.” Arguing over it is pointless.

But to clarify to me “a lot of money” is a relative thing. Relative to Kobe’s Net worth and guaranteed money left on his contracts (NBA contract and endorsement contracts) it’s really not worth fighting the fine.

Especially by how his own accord what he did was wrong.

wow what a crazy start for OKC.

Denver is getting RAPED
