Win big tonight. Ha ha ha. That’s a long limb!

I didnt see it, but to me whats worse…hearing how horrible this “non call” was and hearing about it for weeks or getting the EFFING players back on the court for the last 1.7 seconds and never hearing another thing about…absolutely retarded!

College Basketball goes to the replay all the time, why didnt they do it here! R I D I C U L O U S!

Seriously. That kid literally ran with the ball, stepped out of bounds and threw it towards the rafters. They could’ve called a walk, out of bounds or even a tech for launching the ball, but they called nothing. That is so fucked up and reeks of a fix.

Durant was clutch last night for the Thunder. Hit that three right over Iggy’s head to send the game into OT. Sixers wnet 2-9 in OT and lost by 5. What a great game even though we coudln’t hold onto that late lead, or win in OT. Three OKC players had double doubles. Some serious talent there on display.

Rutgers got screwed over on more than just that final sequence too. The whole final 2 minutes was filled with ‘let them play’ no-calls, but not in the good sense of that phrase. Rutgers players had great positioning on a few loose balls(and that inbounds) and lost control because of over the backs/reach ins/etc; I’m all for letting some physical play through at the most exciting point of a game, but ti was ridiculous.

The Heat won in LA by 16 on xmas (2.5 months ago) and now the Lakers are favored in MIA. Says a lot about how far MIA has fallen (and how well LA is playing now too).

The NBA is a fickle bitch.

Trying to judge the Lakers prowess for the season by their performance on an Xmas day game is fool’s gold. Historically, LA plays like crap on Xmas day every year other than the year following the shellacking by the Celts in game 6 of the 2008 finals. That’s the only Xmas day game I’ve seen this team show up for in recent history. As a matter of fact they typically play like a bipolar heroine addict that has an unreliable drug source before February/March time frame unfortunately. This team drives me nuts.

I pasted this earlier in the thread because I think Wilbon really hits the nail on the head here. Needless to say, I have no doubt LAL will be bringing their A-game into tonight’s matchup and I look fwd to seeing how MIA stacks up:

“The Lakers, I believe, have what amounts to a check list of things they want to get done this regular season, which they are otherwise bored with completely. Just before the All-Star brea they won at Boston, won at Madison Square Garden, won at Portland (where they historically stink), won at Oklahoma City, and now won at San Antonio. Oh, and they have at Miami Thursday night. The Lakers, even in their boredom, want to show that when they’re awake they can kill you. And they still can. I will say this in their defense: only two franchises have reached four straight NBA Finals, the Celtics and Lakers. It’s difficult and demanding and exacting to the point of being numbing. They’re not robots. This isn’t a football season. The Lakers identify these moments where they want to flex and, BOOM!, the knock you out. So, no there is nothing from yesterday’s game that suggests a Spurs-Lakers series would go seven games. Quite a few players in the league wondered during the All-Star break whether the Spurs 1) can still play defense…2) can win if they don’t shoot threes well in a particular game…Well, yesterday’s result suggests the Spurs can’t play the kind of championship defense they used to play and that they might have to incorporate more of the traditional inside-out offense starting with Tim Duncan that they used so effectively over the years…” (from espn.com)

^Yeah, I read that. I think Wilbon hit the nail on the head. The funny thing is this NBA thread has been going on for a few years now and people keep over-reacting about the Lakers crappy play in the first half of the season year after year (i.e. their run is done, they’re getting older, etc). It’s tough to get motivated night after night when you’re playing into June year after year. I expect a win for the Lakers tonight but wouldn’t be surprised if they lost this one since LA is on the big streak and MIA is on the big lose streak. Should be a fun game…

its not halftime yet but Lamar is playing lazy as shit. He’s already given up two “and 1’s” because he was just being lazy with his defense.

Miami is up by 1 right now and are shooting lights out from 3… that wont/cant last all game

back to back strong moves from the Bigs and then Bynum gets the put back… Thats what I’m talking about.

Damn you Pau… shoot that shit. Good clean first half. This is going to be a good game.

Heat 2 Losers 0

Down the stretch Kobrick gets butterfingers and blames it on a phantom foul.

Then takes a ridiculous half court brick shot with 20s left on the clock.

Lakers better hope they don’t face the Heat in the playoffs.

Yeah Yeah. Have your fun. If memory serves me correctly the Lakers lost to the Magic twice in the regular season two years ago and the Lakers wiped them up in 5. Heat played well, especially their bench for once. Heat are still not getting out of the second round.

I’m in Miami bitch!

Heat have just been down because of these ‘El Heat’ jerseys. You know how the Mexicans get all serious with their magic and their curses and shit so who the fuck knows maybe some witch doctor from south California put a curse on them or something.

I’m trying to figure out why Kobe took that ridiculous 3pter just a few feet in from half court with so much time on the clock?

Ok, here we go. Getting OVERLY excited about a regular season game. Enjoy while it lasts, there will be crying and gnashing of teeth later in the playoffs. He he.

I know you’re just trying to piss Rand off, but Wade did foul Bryant before Bryant lost it. Also, Ilgauskas goaltended Artests layup that would’ve tied it up. In all honesty it really doesn’t matter… The Heat are still gonna have trouble in the playoffs and the Lakers are still the team to beat.
