2010-2011 NBA Season 2.0

…that and the biggest flop of all time

I’m gonna take a stab at this Celtics-OKC trade:

OKC: I like this for them, not too hard to see. Green was out of position at the 4; they now can throw Perkins/Ibaka out there for a huge front line; Perkins is a known commodity as an excellent defensive stallwart; A crunch-time lineup of Westbrook-Harden-Durant-Ibaka-Perkins is pretty formidable and well-balanced (as opposed to RW-Harden-KD-Green-Ibaka which leaves them a bit undersized against some teams). Also I don’t think they want to pay Green when he shares the same natural position as KD.

Celtics: I don’t like this for them, but I can see the rationale. With Daniels getting injured they have absolutely no wing players at all. They figured the upgrade from Von Wafer to Jeff Green is bigger than the downgrade from Perkins to the O’Neal brothers/Krstic, especially because Perkins wasn’t playing in crunch time anyway. In tight games the Celtics go with Rondo-PP-Allen-Garnet-Big Baby (putting in Perkins gives them 2 players who can’t shoot free throws, with Rondo). PP can’t play 45mins/game with Daniels out, and if he gets in foul trouble they play 4-on-5.

I still wouldn’t do it if I were the Celts but I see why they did. I don’t see anyone on their roster now who guards Dwight 1-on-1. However… I might just have to place a small wager on OKC to come out of the west now.

new york knicks

Yes, New York Knicks indeed.

haha I’m rooting for Miami but that’s my man right there Chauncey B-B-B-Billups aka Mr. BIG SHOT aka The original king of the Palace. He’s having more of an impact than 'Melo!

Knicks really impressed me. I am surprised Miami lost at home, but not surprised at how well the Knicks played.

I think Melo, Amare, Billups are a better three man combo than Wade+Bron+Bosh, mainly because Bosh isn’t as versatile (consistent?) as Amare. But, that’s my opinion. I’ve always liked Miami and loved Wade, but I think Knicks just have more DEPTH as a team.

The block on LeBron by Amare was beautiful. And Chauncey has always been hard working. Love watching him play, very confident player.

That was an awesome win, more impressive than Melo, Chauncey or Amare…was oh my god, the Knicks played DEFENSE! It was awesome to see. Once Dantoni, gets his 8 man rotation down, this team will be a real force sooner rather than later (hopefully). Special shout out goes to Billy Walker, he played very good, hopefully he can get steadier minutes.

Yeah, I want to see them AT Boston. Then, we’ll know how well they’d do in a Conf Finals.

I think they would do pretty well against Boston in that situation.

And I would rather seem them against Boston than them vs Miami, if they can play at least as well as they did against Miami last night. Miami v Boston would be second most desirable matchup.

I’ll tell ya if NY could get CP3 or someone of that ilk in the next year or so they could quite possibly win a championship in the not too distant future. Imagine that. Knick fans would lose their damn minds. I liken them to suffering pre-2004 Red Sox fans; well, ok, not that bad but you get the picture.

^^ I think CP3 to NY is a foregone conclusion now that Anthony made good on his end of last summer’s “agreement”

And as scary good as that combo of Billups/CP3 + those two fwds is, NY still needs a legit 5 in order to be a true contender. (One of my good friends, diehard Knicks fan, claims they’ll get DeAndre Jordan for that role. Now THAT would be scary)

It’s still a little early to tell, but so far Billups has fit in perfectly with D’antoni’s system. Yesterday was a damn good game, and a damn good win for the Knicks. Lost in everything was the Knicks acquisition of Cory Brewer. Not sure if he’ll find his way into the rotation, but if he does he’s a pretty good man defender on the wing. x2 on Bill Walker getting more pt.

Don’t know if I’d call Jordan a legit 5 just yet, but he is a young athletic big man who can eventually be a force on D and the boards. Why does your boy think he’s NY bound? He grew up in Houston.

True that! Looking back in hindsight, they should of went after Marcin Gortat hard last off season…Stat, Billups, Melo, Gortat and Fields…would be awesome.

What you will see is Jerome Jordan, on the knicks next year, he is playing overseas and was a second pick for the Knicks a couple of years ago, deandre jordan is a real possibility and pie in the sky would be Marc Gasol.

Dantoni loves Jerome Jordan, but he seems more of a outside shooting big man more than anything

Bro we need to start a petition for Bill Walkers playing time to be increased…he even rebounded!

What they need to do is stop giving Turiaf time…he does nothing real well, hes not a great rebounder, a decent defender, overrated shot blocker and zero offensive ability.

They need to start Renaldo Balkman, Staten Islands finest! He would be a perfect fit this year, given the minutes he will be a rebounding monster and runs the break effectively…ideally I would like to see them go with a 9 man rotation.

The usual starting 5 with Douglass, Walker, Brewer and Turiaf and or Carter off the bench.

I would also depending on matchup at times start a small back court when facing a real fast pg, with Tony Doglas playing D on the PG and billups matching up with the 2.

A little flashback, I remember wayyy back in 94 when the knicks were playing the Rockets in the finals I was going absolutely APESHIT when they took of the finals to switch to a live feed of that FUCKSTUMP OJ SIMPSON and his boy’s white Bronco…that shit still pisses me off!

Well forget about Brewer the knicks just bought out his contract…we hardly knew theee

Dude, I wasn’t even a Knicks fan and that shit pissed me off something fierce. I was like “really?!? you fuckers assume I want to see a slow speed chase of fucking OJ instead of the NBA finals game?!?” It still gets me angry when I think about it. Fucking media. At least they could have kept the large picture as the NBA game and the small picture of the uneventful slow speed retard chase.

Dude! That was the first year I watched/played ball. I was going into the 7th grade and was living with my dad in the Aloha Motel in Mcallen, Tx. No matter how it was explained to me I couldn’t figure out why Nordberg running from the cops was more important than watching Hakeem wreck shop on the Knicks. CLUTCH CITY!!!

^ x 2000…its still so fresh in my mind!
